Something To Think About

Kind Blogger readers, let me put a bug (oops Thanks Carol for pointing out my typo!) in your ear...

Christin, Chrisanne and I have been discussing doing a SAL starting on January 1st (see plenty of time to think about this). We have decided the three of us will be working on Teresa Wentzler's The Castle.

I'll have to find the perfect hand dyed for this piece!

So think about it, let me know if you'd like to join us in the New Year.

  1. Ack!!! I'd looooove to join you, but I'm back on the Stash Only wagon, and The Castle is sadly not part of my stash. :( The next TW I will stitch is the Fantasy Triptych. But I'll follow your Castle progress vicariously.

  2. What's a but in your ear?

First thought is SMF's In The Clouds, unless you want something a bit murkier...

It's fate Dani. I have The Castle in my stash and I think it's time. I'd love to join you.
Do I have to register and have a blog too?

  4. My "Castle" has been done for years, but given a choice, I'd pick something toward the grey side of a blue sky.

  6. Ooooooh so tempting! I wish I had a chance of finishing Fortunate Traveller this year. That would make it much more easy to say "I'm in!"

  7. Nice choice Dani, The Castle was the first cross stitch piece I stitched mine's done on Aida so a hand-dye would be a huge improvement

  8. I'm in! After all, it's the first TW I ever purchased, in what - 1989? It's time... What a great idea. Maybe I'll even get a blog going by then.

  9. I finished my Castle about 10 years ago, otherwise I'd gladly join you!

I might since I have the pattern.
A suggestion for fabric- Crossed Wing Collection Fabric Day Break. Half of it is blue which would be perfect for the water and the other half is purple which could complement the dragon.

  13. Yeah! I want to join. I actually started this piece years ago and it has been a sad little ufo for a long time. I do not like the fabric it is on, blah white, and really want to redo it. Count me in! Ann.

Oh my goodness! This was the first chart I bought (fascinated with her design & color), but since it was my first xstitch project, I didn't know anything and let the store owner sell me a piece of 14ct aida ("perfect for this!" - yeh right). Of course I couldn't finish it, and that sad little UFO has been sitting at the bottom of my stash pile. I would LOVE to do this properly, now that I know how to stitch (um, better than before). Thank you so much for choosing this!! and since I'm new to blogging, could you let me know where to sign up? I just found silkweaver's site last week, I'm dreaming some great handdyed linen...yum...
