The opportunity has been presented to me to move my blog (with all the past content) to my own domain, and start using Wordpress.
So I'm wondering those of you who use Wordpress, why do you like it more over blogger?
To my loyal readers, would you continue to read my blog were it moved? I've been assured a re-direct could be set up from my old blog address to my new one, so it wouldn't be as if I suddenly disappeared.
I'd really appreciate any comments left on this.
Thanks!
Of course I would continue to read your blog. I don't use Wordpress. The only problem I have with it is in commenting. It takes three tries to get the comment posted. A little annoying, but it does not stop me!
ReplyDeleteof course I would still read it.
ReplyDeleteI just looked at google reader and I think i have a few blogs on there that are wordpress and I think they come through ok.
Good luck on your move it you do decide to :)
I'd still read your blog :-)
ReplyDeleteI would still read your blog too. I put blogs in Reader and WP blogs read fine through that. I thought you could do custom domain and still be supported through Blogger? That was something I was considering. Can you let me know if you know of any cons doing that? Thx! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd still read your blog but as I wouldn't get your posts up on Google reader on my followers thingy then I may not read as many posts. I don't use wordpress.
ReplyDeleteI would read your blog, but maybe not as often. Like many others I have the followers thingy to alert me when my favorite bloggers post.
ReplyDeleteI don't use wordpress so i can't give you feedback on that. But if you change your URL I'd definetively follow you there.
ReplyDeleteWould follow you anywhere!!
ReplyDeleteI'd still read your blog, but I have had a few problems commenting on some word press blogs - seems to take much longer, and sometimes it just won't let me. I've never had a [problem with Gio's blog, but some of the others have been really badly behaved. But I do like the way they are laid out!
ReplyDeleteYou betcha I'd read your blog on Wordpress or anywhere else you directed us to.
ReplyDeleteDon't know much about Wordpress other than several blogs I read are on there.
Good luck with the move.
Would continue to read it there, but it's harder to leave comments.
ReplyDeleteI use Wordpress, I just find it easier to use than Blogger and I like the look of the layouts. Just like the Blogger users who have problems with WP, I do have the occasional problem leaving comments on Blogger blogs, but not a big problem. I would definitely continue to read, wherever your blog might be, I enjoy visiting!
ReplyDeleteI'll read your blog wherever it is, as long as I can see it.
ReplyDeleteOf course I'd still read! Don't know much about WP, so I'm no help there.
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about Wordpress, but I'd certainly still read your blog if you moved it there.
ReplyDeleteI love coming here, of course i would still visit you.
ReplyDeleteI'll follow you you but I won't be happy. For some reason Wordpress blogs take my computer forever to load.
ReplyDeleteGo where you might, I will find you {wink}...
ReplyDeleteOf course I would still read your blog, no matter where it would be :-)
ReplyDeleteAs long as you keep posting your photos, I'll find you.
ReplyDeleteJudie
I'd still follow you. Not sure what it would mean with my Google reader or how I would bookmark you, but I promise I will find a way!
ReplyDeleteI will follow you ...
ReplyDeleteI have had probelms with commenting on Wordpress blogs but I do read quite a few of them so quite happy to follow you there!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy on Wordpress - I'm also on a private Blogger blog, and I like the WP posting interface much better. Managing the WP blog is quite easy. Self-hosted WP has more flexibility, I hear, than the free blogs on wordpress.com (such as mine). There should be no difference at all for Google Reader subscriptions, so wherever you go, I'll just subscribe again with Reader and follow you as I've been doing until now.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, whatever you choose to do!
I would totally still follow you're blog, it's among one of my favorites. I don't use Wordpress so I can't help you there, but I would definitely continue to read you.
ReplyDeleteOf course I'd still read it- I'd just add the new addy to google reader!
ReplyDeleteI like Wordpress a lot better than Blogger. And I am also a big fan of having my own webspace.
ReplyDeleteWould I continue to read, of course! :)
I would still read your blog. It's all about what you say and share with us, not where you are. I always enjoy seeing what you are up to and the places you've been. Have to keep up with Hunter too!
ReplyDeleteI don't have Wordpress, but yes I would continue to read your blog. Don't know if I can comment though.
ReplyDeleteI only asked for one thing, Dani...keep your link posted where I can find you :P am afrain can't give you advise on wordpress, follow your heart, which is more convenient to you.
ReplyDeleteI follow a few who use Wordpress and have found their sites to be laid out well. I like that it gives you the option to have tabs, where Blogger does not (at least not that I have found). I don't personally use WP, but have considered the move myself. I have also not encountered any problems with commenting or getting updates.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I would follow you on WP!
It's harder to leave comments for me but I'd still follow you. Don't you like Blogger? You've been doing great with it for as long as I've been following you :)
ReplyDeleteI will be with you:) There were times when my workplace blocked off wordrpress, but currently though it is on. Most social networkings sites are blocked :(
ReplyDeleteDoesn't worry me where you have your blog. That's up to you. I'll follow your blog no matter what.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have any problems with it. I follow several blogs on WP already. I've considered the move myself, too, because of the option to password protect certain posts. I stay with Blogger because it's easier to customize my blog. Do what is best for you! :)
ReplyDeleteI would definately follow your blog anywhere! As other have mentioned, I find commenting on Wordpress to be annoying - I've never been able to leave a comment on blogs I follow through Wordpress. Maybe I should keep trying like one of the ladies mentioned above. I don't know what this google follower thingy is so I'm going to have to look into that :)
ReplyDeleteI would keep reading. But like others, commenting on wordpress is a PITA! :)
ReplyDelete-Jen
I'd still read your blog. Sorry, can't help with Word press
ReplyDeleteSure, I will keep reading your blog. It doesn't make any difference for me. I enjoy reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteI used Wordpress & love it.
ReplyDeleteAnd something else to keep in mind:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/feb/11/google-deletes-music-blogs
Yes it was music & your blog isn't; but it is something to think about.
Dani, I seem to be one of few who has not had a problem commenting in WP. I only follow one blog, but it's fine.
ReplyDeleteI'll follow you wherever.
Yes, I would continue to visit...yes, I can get WP subscriptions on google reader,...yes, no problems commenting. Three yeses from me! :)
ReplyDeleteJust can't help with WP as I have only used Blogger.
As long as I can find a way to your blog I will continue to read it.
ReplyDeleteI will follow.
ReplyDeleteCan't advise you on WP at all, I am sooo new to blogging land! But I would still follow for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteYes I'd follow but commenting would be an issue.
ReplyDeleteI've had problems commenting on Wordpress too. It annoys the heck out of me.
ReplyDeleteI'd still follow you, and have been (half-heartedly) doing the switch since some time last summer. I own my own domain (through Yahoo) and have my blogger blog setup there with the custom URL, so that works. Yahoo comes with the ability to install WP, and I've tried it and it didn't seem that hard to use, my biggest issue was figuring out how to get back to the WP "Dashboard". (silly non-intuitive yahoo problem, not a WP problem to be clear.)
ReplyDeleteYou can import all your blogger comments over to WP, so you won't lose them, but be warned, it takes AGES.
And for the people having problems leaving comments no WP blogs, can anyone confirm that they are the ones trying to force you to use the OpenID login? I can never get that to work right, but can comment on blogs that don't use it, or allow you to uncheck the box...
Whatever you decide, I'll still be following you, and not just for the touches of home!
I'll still read but I often have problems commenting on WP along with it often not loading for me at all
ReplyDeleteI'd still read your blog Dani, it wouldn't matter if you moved to wordpress. What ever works best for you.
ReplyDeleteI'd still follow as I love seeing what all you've been up to. If you do decide to move, good luck I hope the transfer goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteYour earlier post of Tour looked wonderful. You've made great progress, we'll be seeing a happy dance on this before to long I'm thinking.
Sue
Dear Dani, of course I will continue to read your blog, even if you move it...as long as you leave your new address so we can find you ;-) Ann
ReplyDeleteI'm on wordpress and don't have a problem with reading any blogs (although sometimes it take several attemts to post a comment on blogspot.
ReplyDeleteGo with whichever you're most comfortable with and your readers will still visit
I know nothing of Wordpress but I would definitely keep reading!
ReplyDeleteOf course I'll follow you!
ReplyDeleteOf course I will keep on following you! Wordpress is just a little less user friendly for leaving comments.
ReplyDeleteI've never used Wordpress either so I can't comment on it but I'd still follow you if you moved.
ReplyDeleteI'll follow you wherever you land Dani. And I am so impressed with 'Tour' - you rock!
ReplyDeleteI've tried wordpress and just didn't care for the format of it. But no worries. If you decide to move Dani I'd still read you as I love watching what you stitch.
