Looking For Your Feedback

The opportunity has been presented to me to move my blog (with all the past content) to my own domain, and start using Wordpress.

So I'm wondering those of you who use Wordpress, why do you like it more over blogger?

To my loyal readers, would you continue to read my blog were it moved? I've been assured a re-direct could be set up from my old blog address to my new one, so it wouldn't be as if I suddenly disappeared.

I'd really appreciate any comments left on this.

Thanks!

  1. Of course I would continue to read your blog. I don't use Wordpress. The only problem I have with it is in commenting. It takes three tries to get the comment posted. A little annoying, but it does not stop me!

  2. of course I would still read it.

  4. I would still read your blog too. I put blogs in Reader and WP blogs read fine through that. I thought you could do custom domain and still be supported through Blogger? That was something I was considering. Can you let me know if you know of any cons doing that? Thx! :)

  5. I'd still read your blog but as I wouldn't get your posts up on Google reader on my followers thingy then I may not read as many posts. I don't use wordpress.

  6. I would read your blog, but maybe not as often. Like many others I have the followers thingy to alert me when my favorite bloggers post.

  7. I don't use wordpress so i can't give you feedback on that. But if you change your URL I'd definetively follow you there.

  9. I'd still read your blog, but I have had a few problems commenting on some word press blogs - seems to take much longer, and sometimes it just won't let me. I've never had a [problem with Gio's blog, but some of the others have been really badly behaved. But I do like the way they are laid out!

You betcha I'd read your blog on Wordpress or anywhere else you directed us to.

Don't know much about Wordpress other than several blogs I read are on there.

    Good luck with the move.

I use Wordpress, I just find it easier to use than Blogger and I like the look of the layouts. Just like the Blogger users who have problems with WP, I do have the occasional problem leaving comments on Blogger blogs, but not a big problem. I would definitely continue to read, wherever your blog might be, I enjoy visiting!

  14. Of course I'd still read! Don't know much about WP, so I'm no help there.

  17. I'll follow you you but I won't be happy. For some reason Wordpress blogs take my computer forever to load.

  21. I'd still follow you. Not sure what it would mean with my Google reader or how I would bookmark you, but I promise I will find a way!

  24. I'm happy on Wordpress - I'm also on a private Blogger blog, and I like the WP posting interface much better. Managing the WP blog is quite easy. Self-hosted WP has more flexibility, I hear, than the free blogs on wordpress.com (such as mine). There should be no difference at all for Google Reader subscriptions, so wherever you go, I'll just subscribe again with Reader and follow you as I've been doing until now.

Good luck, whatever you choose to do!

  25. I would totally still follow you're blog, it's among one of my favorites. I don't use Wordpress so I can't help you there, but I would definitely continue to read you.

  27. I like Wordpress a lot better than Blogger. And I am also a big fan of having my own webspace.

Would I continue to read, of course! :)

  28. I would still read your blog. It's all about what you say and share with us, not where you are. I always enjoy seeing what you are up to and the places you've been. Have to keep up with Hunter too!

  29. I don't have Wordpress, but yes I would continue to read your blog. Don't know if I can comment though.

  30. I only asked for one thing, Dani...keep your link posted where I can find you :P am afrain can't give you advise on wordpress, follow your heart, which is more convenient to you.

  31. I follow a few who use Wordpress and have found their sites to be laid out well. I like that it gives you the option to have tabs, where Blogger does not (at least not that I have found). I don't personally use WP, but have considered the move myself. I have also not encountered any problems with commenting or getting updates.

And yes, I would follow you on WP!

  32. It's harder to leave comments for me but I'd still follow you. Don't you like Blogger? You've been doing great with it for as long as I've been following you :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I will be with you:) There were times when my workplace blocked off wordrpress, but currently though it is on. Most social networkings sites are blocked :(

  34. Doesn't worry me where you have your blog. That's up to you. I'll follow your blog no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wouldn't have any problems with it. I follow several blogs on WP already. I've considered the move myself, too, because of the option to password protect certain posts. I stay with Blogger because it's easier to customize my blog. Do what is best for you! :)

  36. I would definately follow your blog anywhere! As other have mentioned, I find commenting on Wordpress to be annoying - I've never been able to leave a comment on blogs I follow through Wordpress. Maybe I should keep trying like one of the ladies mentioned above. I don't know what this google follower thingy is so I'm going to have to look into that :)

  37. I would keep reading. But like others, commenting on wordpress is a PITA! :)

Yes it was music & your blog isn't; but it is something to think about.

  41. Dani, I seem to be one of few who has not had a problem commenting in WP. I only follow one blog, but it's fine.
    I'll follow you wherever.

  42. Yes, I would continue to visit...yes, I can get WP subscriptions on google reader,...yes, no problems commenting. Three yeses from me! :)
Just can't help with WP as I have only used Blogger.

  43. As long as I can find a way to your blog I will continue to read it.

  44. Can't advise you on WP at all, I am sooo new to blogging land! But I would still follow for sure!!!

Yes I'd follow but commenting would be an issue.

  46. I've had problems commenting on Wordpress too. It annoys the heck out of me.

  47. I'd still follow you, and have been (half-heartedly) doing the switch since some time last summer. I own my own domain (through Yahoo) and have my blogger blog setup there with the custom URL, so that works. Yahoo comes with the ability to install WP, and I've tried it and it didn't seem that hard to use, my biggest issue was figuring out how to get back to the WP "Dashboard". (silly non-intuitive yahoo problem, not a WP problem to be clear.)
You can import all your blogger comments over to WP, so you won't lose them, but be warned, it takes AGES.
And for the people having problems leaving comments no WP blogs, can anyone confirm that they are the ones trying to force you to use the OpenID login? I can never get that to work right, but can comment on blogs that don't use it, or allow you to uncheck the box...
Whatever you decide, I'll still be following you, and not just for the touches of home!

  48. I'll still read but I often have problems commenting on WP along with it often not loading for me at all

Your earlier post of Tour looked wonderful. You've made great progress, we'll be seeing a happy dance on this before to long I'm thinking.

  55. Of course I will keep on following you! Wordpress is just a little less user friendly for leaving comments.

  56. I've never used Wordpress either so I can't comment on it but I'd still follow you if you moved.
