Valentines & Chinese New Year

Today is a busy day on the calendar! (and a good excuse to share some more pictures with you!)

I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! I hope your DH's and DBF's are much more thoughtful than mine and maybe actually get you a card or a little something to celebrate the day. Honestly I had no hopes, because he's just not that kind of guy and never has been. I on the other hand got him a card and his favourite chocolates just to mark the day.

For those who celebrate it, Happy Year of the Tiger!

  1. Well, mine don't give cards or flowers on Valentine's Day too. That is because this occasion is not much celebrated here in Denmark. Besides that, it is our Danish Fastelavn today whereby the children will go round the neighbourhood, singing for candies :0))

I haven't celebrate CNY for many years and didn't even know when it is for this year. Still I really enjoy any CNY celebrations pictures :0))

  2. We had Chinese takeaway in honour of the new year! I am a bit wily and Valentine's Day is also our anniversary, so it gets noticed every year! No card, no chocolates.... but either a weekend away, or like this year we go to a special restaurant to mark the occasion. Tonight it is The Inn at Little Washington!

  3. Happy Valentine's Day Dani! *hugs* Even though *the boy* is unemployed and hurting for money, he got me store bought flowers, drugstore candy and a card. I was only expecting a card! He tells me he'll be eating tuna this week now but our cupboard is pretty stocked. He won't starve! lol

  4. My BF or whatever he is sent me an email message. I was impressed because I wasn't expecting anything and I haven't mentioned Valentine's Day at all. I am sorry Todd didn't do anything for you.

Happy Chinese New Year! Year of the Tiger... the animal used for many Tae Kwon Do schools. :-) I wish you many good fortunes for the New Year!

Happy Valentines Day, Dani. I wasn't expecting anything either but got a bunch of roses. I'm sorry Todd didn't do anything.

  6. Happy Valentine's Day! A week ago I mentioned it was Valentine's to DBF, he looked mildly alarmed, and suggested no presents - which I agreed to instantly for lack of both funds and inspiration! I did get a card though. But really, it's all about comercialism!

  8. No fears, I also live with someone who never remembers either. So I made the boys cupcakes with pink icing and when they asked why...HAPPY VALENTINE'S FROM MOMMY! Here is hoping that I raise my boys to be a little more mindful than my DH...

  10. Hi Dani,

For what it's worth I'm sending
you my own best wishes for
    Valentine's Day, even if I'm a
    day late with them.

I can't wait to see the update
on Tour! It's such a beautiful
    design and all those confetti
    stitches and the backstitching
make this look so darn realistic!

    Cool picture of the turkey
    vulture. We see them flying
    over the roadways usually but
    one memorable day we passed
about five of them at the side
of the road checking out some=
thing that was their idea of
take out. It was awesome to get
such a close up look at them,
though I made sure not to look
    too closely at their "dinner".

Glad to hear that your cold is
    pretty much gone and you're
    feeling better. It sucks being
    sick.

    Have a great week!!! CHeers!
