So first I'm going to ask for your opinion, a good, long time TKD buddy of mine is getting married at the end of July and I finally got the wedding invite. So its time to buckle down and stitch his wedding gift. I've settled on Bent Creek's Wedding Row. I really want to work from what stash I have so I've narrowed down my fabric choice to two, both from the Wichelt hand dyed Joblean line. Let me know which you think looks better.
Dried Thyme - This is the one I'm leaning towards
Sandcastle
Not A Creature Was Stirring... JCS 2008 Ornament Issue
I'm also hoping to finish off 1/4 of Celestial Dragon, I won't be stitching every single moment this weekend as I've got some things to do and go to but we'll see how far I get.

I agree, I like Dried Thyme...but I do think both would work. Can't wait to see this... so cute!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on CD this weekend.
Your choice will look lovely. I am looking for a wedding one to do for my granddaughter and might consider doing this one as well.
ReplyDeleteJudie
Dried Thyme. I stitched this one last year for a cousin, it works up so quick. I still want to stitch it again for myself & the husband.
ReplyDeleteBoth fabrics are lovely, but I think that the floss pops more on Dried Thyme.
ReplyDeleteI love this design, and would love to stitch it for myself one day.
I like the Dried Thyme - think the white floss shows up more. It's hard to tell from photos and monitors. Have a great stitchy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend. My vote would be for Dried Thyme.
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for the Dried Thyme - on my monitor at least, the 3865 shows up better. And that is a very cute chart, too!
ReplyDeleteLOL , I agree with Barbi , the floss pops more on the Dried Thyme , but either would look great. Can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteDried Thyme.
ReplyDeleteCelestial Dragon looks amazing! And your new start is very cute.
It does seem to be a strong trend: dried thyme. Enjoy your four day weekend. We Yanks get ours next weekend: Memorial Day Weekend. The Celestial Dragon look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI like the dried thyme, as well. My hubby (and 3 of the kids) are Canadian and he says it's the weekend to grab a 2-4! We live in the states in a border town, so everyone in Ontario is in our town right now. Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteLove your work

Dryed Thyme.
ReplyDeleteLove your progress on Celestial Dragon!!
I agree with the consensus too...the white seems to pop better on the Dried Thyme. I love this design...look forward to seeing progress pics. Hope you have a wonderful long weekend and that you get lots of stitchy time in...
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else.. Dried Thyme. :) Celestial Dragon is looking fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI like the Dried Thyme for the wedding piece. I love the Celestial dragon. Have fun this weekend.
ReplyDeleteDried Thyme one is good.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Clare
Your instincts are excellent! I vote dried thyme too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great holiday weekend!
Dried thyme gets my vote! And CD looks amazing! You have crazy fast needles!
ReplyDeleteDried thyme gets my vote too. But on my monitor, it's almost a toss-up.
ReplyDeleteThe dragon is really looking great!
I vote for Dried Thyme too. The colours just seem to pop more on it.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your stitchy weekend. It's my last before I return to work Tuesday. Sigh!!
I love the dried thyme. I have worked with that and it is beautiful. But all of your stitching is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like the dried thyme too Dani. Isn't that a fabulous name for linen? CD is going to be just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCelestial Dragon is looking awesome!
ReplyDelete(funny I just read on someone else's blog about why we celebrate Victoria Day, shh don't tell anyone or they'll take it away!) :)
Dried Thyme for me and I love the Dragon.Enjoy your Sunday hope it's just as sunny as here in Holland
ReplyDeleteHugs
Erna
Well - duh - Dried Thyme.
ReplyDeleteCD is looking so good!!!! Enjoy the May 2-4 weekend hon.
How odd, we don't have a public holiday for QV's birthday here, we don't even have one for QEII's (official or unofficial)
ReplyDeleteI think the top fabric looks best with the threads, the blue doesn't seem to quite sit right on the other one
Another vote for the Dried Thyme, Dani... Your friend will just love your special wedding gift :)
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful and either fabric choice will be lovely. I'm going to go against the rest though and say I like Sand Castle the best. I think the white will stand out better on it. And I Love the progress you've made on CD.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of dried thyme too.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't already made your decision, I'd go with the first one too, but I'd want to try some test stitches to see if the white stands out enough. There isn't much white in the pattern so you should be good.
ReplyDeleteCD is looking wonderful, and I like Deco as well. Didn't see where you'd made your choice on fabric yet, I'd lean towards the Dried Thyme too, but it will look wonderful on either I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteSue
Both will look good!! Now, i cannot wait to see this project, LOL. I think Dried Thyme is winning hands down from what i see in the comments.
ReplyDeleteCD is looking so wonderful...
Voting for the top fabric, a lovely design for your friends wedding
ReplyDeleteCD is growing, the colours in this are spectacular
I'm voting for Dried Thyme, although either fabric will be lovely.
