Vieux Quebec At A Glance

Yesterday my Mum and I spent the whole day in Vieux Quebec (the old part of the city), here it is at a glance!

Charming old buildings in close quarters

One of the most photographed hotels in the world, the Chateau Frontenac

Goldman!  He was a riot to watch.

Sculptures in surprising places

Every building is fantastically decked out!

On the caleche ride (horse and carriage) our driver was very amusing

Mum and I in the caleche

Cowering in the cover from the rain!

The lower city from above

It was a long, but nice day... unfortunately in the late afternoon/early evening the rain moved in and we didn't get to explore the lower city.

  7. I was only in Quebec once ... on a high school trip when I was way too young and parochial to truly appreciate it ... I'd love to return and see its beauty with
more mature eyes and sensibilities. But your photos are a good start.

  16. Quebec City is beautiful. One of my favorite places. It rained and was cold when were there also. BTW... The hotel is more impressive on the outside. The rooms were a little tired. Hopefully, they have renovated in the past few years.

  22. Looks like you and your mum are having a wonderful time together. It is fun to see photos of Quebec in the summer time...last time (and only time) I was there was in Feb 2009 for a 2 week hockey tournament. The city was quite grey, wet and snowy.
    Take care
