Dude... somethign's amiss at the Circle K

Don't worry this isn't a re-visit of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure... but somethings wrong with this picture.  Sigh, I took a quick look at this when I realized the circle wasn't going to meet and couldn't easily spot where I went wrong.  So now I need to sit down and compare this to the chart stitch-by-stitch.

I was going to blog late last night, but Blogger wasn't co-operating with me.  I started and finished another adorable little snowflake last night.  I had been hoping to have a more productive evening, stitching wise but I spent wayyyy too much time online.

Cross Stitch Gold Snowflake
Stitched on : 28ct Opalescent Lugana
Stitched with : DMC cotton

Here's the PhotoHunt from December 25th -- "Circle"

I thought this picture was appropriate since this should of been done on Christmas Day, its a round Christmas ornament that I saw decorating a tree in someones yard just before Christmas when I went to a friends for a little "Holiday Cheer".

  1. Hi Dani,

It looks to me like you missed a stitch on the bottom left. Right next to the long line of stitches...

  2. If that circle's meant to be symmetrical, I can see where you went wrong (two pairs of eyes are better than one!) Fortunately, you don't have to frog much. At the bottom of the circle, there's a straight line of 10 or so stitches. To the *left* of that, there should be a space between that line and the next row up, but there isn't. Also, there should be a space between that next row, and the row above *that*. Hope that helps!!

  3. Don't you just hate it when you can't easily spot where it all went wrong?

    Cute snowflake, pretty colours.

  4. not far to go to find an answer. I guess it pays to have millions of eyes to look out for you. Your snowflake is very pretty.
    As always

  5. Yup, bottom left, just before the straight line.

  6. Also looks like there might be a set of stitches missing where you want to join them - all the other straight lines have a row of two full stitches and a quarter stitch, then three rows of one full stitch and a quarter stitch. Your join point is missing the row of two full and one quarter stitch.

  7. I was thinking the same thing about it being symmetrical at the right bottom next to the long line of stitches it is not the same as the other side.

  8. I was going to say bottom left too, if it's supposed to be symetrical!

Love the snowflake and your photo hunt picture, they're both very pretty!

Ackkkkkkkkk...I hate when borders don't match up.

Hopefully by now you have found the problem.

    Beautiful ornament picture.

  12. The snowflake is really pretty.
Like the others I think your circle is "off" just to the left of the centre line at the bottom

  13. Yuck, don't you hate it when that happens? Fortunately it shouldn't take very long to correct - but that's one of the reasons why I like to start in the middle :-)
    Love your little snowflake!

  16. Happy New Year Dani! Don't you hate when the stitching doesn't match up and you have to rip out!! Looks like everyone else is offering what happened. I just love the snowflake and the colours in it.

Shame about the frogging, hopefully it won't take too long, but still very frustrating. Now I have to go watch Bill & Ted lol

  19. If it makes you feel better I mess up and have to frog every single time I stitch anything with a circle in it! I always seem to end up off one stitch or two.

The same thing happens any time I stitch something "mirror" imaged, like the M Designs trees! I have at least 5 spots in my Peace tree that are wrong LOL (and I didn't frog! tsk tsk on me)

  20. Don't you hate when that happens? I always hold my breath until the two ends connect. Sometimes I'm lucky sometimes not.

  22. Your snowflake is beautiful.

I always get so nervous that a border or something won't meet up. It looks as though you've had lots of help finding out where you made the mistake :)

  23. Sorry you have to frog, but doesn't look like it will take you long, agree with the others about it being bottom left I think.
At least you got another ornie done instead. I spend WAY too much time on the pc when I could be stitching, I really need to work on that this year.
