Stitching Progress

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, there's been two reasons... first of all I'm enjoying my stitching so much that I haven't wanted to "distract" myself with the computer.  On top of really wanting to stitch I've been physically and mentally exhausted.  I've been pushing myself to stay up to my regular bed time just so I can stitch more.

So here's the progress on my WIPs as of bedtime Wednesday...

Art Deco Spirits, Water is coming along beautifully and I'm enjoying her!  Its also been nice to know that when I am done with a particular colour... I'm done!  Its such a nice feeling to know you won't be working with that colour again.

The Accolade, I've been working on this every day, a 10x10 block at a time before I pick up Art Deco Spirits.  I am loving it!  There is something just so pleasing about stitching over one!  Yes, yes, I'm a sick, sick girl.

I finished another snowflake... just one more to go!  I still haven't done the finishing, yet can't let that resolution slip yet!

I went to Tuesday stitching again this week, really enjoyed it again, my friend Amy from work joined me too!  She's not a die-hard stitcher like the rest of us... but she shall be converted!  Yes Amy, I've got you in my sights (she's a blog lurker)!  I did cut out early for two reasons though, bad weather and I was just exhausted!

I have some new stash to share with you... but I forgot to photograph it and well I can't be bothered to get the camera back out, so you'll just have to wait.

On Monday... it was FREAKIN' cold out... that's my weather station, so it really was -26 Celsius at my house and that didn't include the wind chill.  We've been having a cold week and I don't like it at all.

Hunter was being cute again... we caught him beating up my lunch bag Sunday afternoon!  Gosh he's so easy to photograph!

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Maybe the cold weather is dragging you down.

Hunter looks like he is being a pick-pocket.

  4. Oh...can totally relate with the mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted. I'm just happy I can remember by name and where I live. Get lots of rest and do the things that relax you. Great progress on your wips! -27...can't even imagine! It was 61 here today!

Minus 26??? Thats horrifying, I don't think I've ever been anywhere that cold. Was that during the day?
Did Hunter manage to kill the lunch bag?

  7. Amazing progress Dani! I'm afraid I haven't put in a single stitch since Tuesday night. Totally exhausted this week.

  8. The stitching looks wonderful Dani! Don't push yourself too hard, but remember that stitching does relax and rejuvenate you, so stitching until bedtime is a good thing on many levels!
It's a good thing, you being a bag person, that you have Hunter around to keep all those unruly bags in line. Great photo!

  13. Holy crap, -26!!!!! You are a much better woman than I! I would have been buried under some goose down comforters moaning for sure.

I'm excited to see your Deco Spirits completely finished!!!

By the way, I have some over-one stitching I can send you if you run out. =P ;)

And brrrrr! It was cold out like that here this week too and I swear I can feel my fat cells swelling up to hold on to everything they can to keep me warm. *sigh*

  20. Fantastic progress! I think everyone has to take a bit of a computer/blogging break here and there. Especially when you're in the stitching zone!

My goodness, it sure is cold there!

Brrrr! -26, I can't even begin to imagine how cold that is, it was -5 here this week and i was absolutely frozen! Great progress on your stitching. I think Hunter has to be one of the most photographic cats I've seen!

  23. Great stitchy progress Dani, keep it up! Hunter is certainly a very cute cat :)

  24. What great progress you are making despite being tired. Its amazing how our stitching must go on despite everything else. And we are now getting your deep freeze weather with 12F degrees this am when walking the dog - it doesn't seem to be bothering him! Good excuse to stay indoors and stitch I think!

  25. Made it back to AZ just in time didn't I. Missed the deep freeze. You are making wonderful progresses there girl.
You will soon be here and can just relax for a bit!!!

  26. Hi Dani,

I've torn myself away from playing
Bejeweled Blitz and am trying to
catch up on my blog commenting.
    I'm afraid that I've developed
quite an addiction to that darn
game and it's eating into my
    precious stitching/blogging time.
Not to mention the late nights
when I should have gone to bed
    long before I do because I can't
    stop playing. Sigh.

Isn't the weather a joy these
days?? It looked like such a
gorgeous day out today with the
sun shining and the sky as blue
as can be as far as the eye could
see. But then you step outside
and get hit with a dose of reality.
When we went out, briefly, for
    groceries this afternoon it was
-16 Celsius and who knows what
with the wind chill added to that.
I think Kathy has the right idea
when it comes to knowing how to
    spend the Winter months.

    Your two main stitching projects
are looking great Dani. Art Deco
Spirits ~ Water is going to be
    another beautiful addition to the
set that you've been working on.
It's fun seeing the design emerge
as you stitch each color onto it.

    Those little snowflakes that you
have been stitching are sweet and
I love the blue thread color used
to make them. They'd look wonderful when finished on their own little
    Christmas tree.

    The stitching envelope that
Beatrice made for you is gorgeous
    with those golden dragons and
the red flame design on the
fabric. Such a perfect choice of fabric for you. I'm sure it'll
be handy for going to the
    stitching gatherings that you
    travel to.

    It's great that you've started
going to the same stitchers gathering that Lynn goes to in Ottawa. I can well imagine how
an evening like that with other
    passionate stitchers would help
    fuel your own creative mojo.

    Love seeing your new Ginger
    scissors and the other three
    that make up your collection
    so far. Very pretty.

    Hunter is quite the handsome
    fellow and he certainly knows
how to play to the camera.
    So sweet.

Have a great week Dani. Hope
that you were able to catch
up on your rest this weekend.

    Cheers!
