Knowledge & Needles Open House 2011

This past Saturday was Ann's annual open house at Knowledge and Needles.  According to Ann, its the 11th open house... I think I've been to the last 9-10 years of these open houses.  Originally this annual event started out as a group of us from the Teresa Wentzler Bulletin Board having a get together.  Over the years its changed and grown to the Knowledge & Needles open house.  Once upon a time we numbered less than ten... this year throughout the day Ann had over 40 stitchers in attendance!  There's no admission fee, no pressure to shop (be we all seem to leave with little green bags), all you have to bring is: yourself, a potluck dish, something to stitch on, and some stitching to show off.

It was a fantastic and HOT day!  I think we all ate and talked more than we actually stitched.  As per my usual comment... I'll let the pictures do the talking!

Lots of amazing needlework on display!

Wonderful Stitchers!

Stitchers were everywhere, in the garage...

... in the kitchen...

... in the sun room...

... even outside enjoying the beautiful day!

This is Harry the first male stitcher we've ever had in attendance

Plenty of good eats!

Yes, I bought some stash too!

Whew!  What a day!  We were all pooped at the end!!!

  2. Lucky you! It looks like so much fun and I enjoyed seeing everyone's stitching. I have lighthouse patterns I planned on putting on one of those afghans many years ago...Stoney Creek...maybe they are the same ones I don't know. Another project that never got off the ground lol.

  9. Looks like a great day Dani. You recently posted to my blog about wanting me to put pics in my blog instead of links. But I can't figure out how to move the pics. Can you give me a step by step on how you did this blog entry? Because if I upload the photos first, I end up not being able to put the words around them. And if I upload them last, I don't get to put them where I want them. They refuse to move except to go left, right, and center. I'd be ever so grateful if you would shoot me an email with detailed instructions. TIA if you can!!!

  14. Wow, Ann will soon have to rent a party tent to house stitchers if things keep going like this! It looks like every available corner was full of stitchers. I loved seeing the pictures of everyone's stitching and wish I could have seen them in person.
I'm glad you had such an awesome time and I'm hoping to see you the Labour Day weekend.
