PhotoHunt - Texture

The theme for this week's PhotoHunt is "Texture", oooh a theme after my own heart!  I love taking pictures of the texture of items.

At the end of March my friend Tracey and I went to check out one of the Antique/Junk places in the area and amongst all the piles of junk I found this textured and painted radiator.

IHSW Report

I had a bit of a social weekend spending Friday and Saturday with great friends so I didn't get around to posting a pre IHSW post.  So I'm doing it all here for you!  Pre and post stitching pictures!

Here is The Accolade before I picked it up on Saturday

Here it is after stitching up two 10x10 blocks on it, I decided not to work on it on Sunday.

I also worked away on Ink Circles Winter Mandala, here it is before I picked it up on Saturday afternoon.

And this is why I didn't work on The Accolade, because I finished it!!!  Happy Dance!  Only three more seasons to go.  This means I've also finished yet another of my January Crazy Challenge pieces!  Yay!  That leaves 8 projects left to finish up this year.

TUSAL for April

Lots of orts from both Winter from the Ink Circles Seasonal Mandalas and from The Accolade, over one and 40ct stitching doesn't make for a lot of orts.

PhotoHunt - Reflect

This week's PhotoHunt theme is "Reflect"

I took this picture back in February in an area of the Dominican Republic called Hato Mayor.  We spend this day in the mountains learning about the process of growing and making Cocoa and how the Fair Trade process works.  We wrap up the day with lunch at this wonderful lookout spot, we also spend an hour in reflection on what we had seen and done during the previous days.  Here are my students in reflection writing letters to family or friends about their experience.

I can't think of a more beautiful spot in the world to reflect!

Looking to Make A Trade

Recently a friend of mine who is fairly new to stitching ordered a piece of 40ct linen, upon receiving it she didn't like the type of linen, it's by Wichelt. She did not realize she wanted a piece of 40 ct by Zwiegart.

I'd like to help her facilitate a trade, her piece is 40ct white Wichelt 18x27 a value of $18.00. She likes either 28 or 32 evenweave fabric, colour is not an issue.

If this a trade you're interested in making, leave me a comment.

PhotoHunt - Sturdy

This week's PhotoHunt theme is "Sturdy"

This photo was taken last July in Quebec City while we were on vacation with my good friend Bonnie and her husband.  We went and visited the Chutes St. Anne outside of Quebec City where there are magnificent waterfalls with trails and bridges criss crossing the river and falls.  None of the bridges looked too sturdy as they were all suspension bridges but they held the weight of quite a few people!  I just didn't like how they bounced and swayed!

PhotoHunt - Awesome

This week's theme is "awesome"

There is nothing more awesome than one of my favourite shots!  This was taken about a month ago along County Road 10 between Westport and Kingston, Ontario.  This one is worth clicking to biggify!

April WIPocalypse Report

The full moon is here and the World is coming to an end so its time to kill those WIPs!  Here's my progress report for what I've worked on in the last moon cycle.

I have been VERY good and I have worked on The Accolade every day.  Each day before I've picked up my focus project, I've completed a 10x10 area on The Accolade.  This BAP has been moving along nicely since I've started doing this religiously.

 The Accolade - March

 The Accolade - April

Since my last report I've started working away at Ink Circles Winter Mandala.  The filling in is taking longer than I thought it would.  I honestly thought I would fly with this piece once all the black was stitched.  For some reason I'm having trouble "getting into" this project.  For some reason the colours came out very faded in this picture.

Seasonal Mandalas - Winter

I've also puttered with Spring as well, putting in the odd thread length of black outlining.

Seasonal Mandalas - Spring

I had a Happy Dance today!  This project was one of my January 15.  I had been carrying it around as my travel project and suddenly had the urge to get this one out of my stitching bag/purse!

And The Travelling Pattern Goes To....

Yes its Wednesday... not for much longer, but still time to post who is going to get the Travelling Pattern!

The pattern goes to.... Kathy of Kathy's Sit and Stitch!!!  Kathy is an amazing stitcher, super speedy (might have something to do with that retirement thing), an excellent exchange partner and always sends things off in a timely matter.  I couldn't think of anyone better!

Kathy, drop me a line and let me know where's the best address to send it to!

PhotoHunt, April Goals & Happy Dance

Well with this post, you're getting a 3-fer!  I don't know what's best, to have divided each of these up into individual posts over several days or to put it all into one?

This past weekend's PhotoHunt theme was "Fresh"

What's nicer than being waited on hand and foot having fresh food being plated and served?  This is my friend Dan who loves to cook.  Three times a  year his wife Ann hosts a stitching retreat and on Saturday he cooks for us an awesome lunch each time.

As it is the beginning of the month its time to review my goals from March and share with you what I'd like to accomplish in April.
