... I Can't Dance...

Wow, Genesis was fantastic tonight! My Mum and I really enjoyed the show minus a few ahem interruptions. They played for three hours straight... with no pee breaks.

The first thing that irked me tonight was the woman who had the seat to the left of me... she asked me to sit down ... we were sitting in the first row of the 100 section at the Scotia Bank Place (home of the Ottawa Senators) so with all the people on the floor standing I really couldn't see anything when I sat. So we compromised and I leaned against the boards. We were both happy.

Then a little later on in the show the Scotia Bank Place employee who was working the entrance to the floor which was at the end of our section came over to me and asked me if I could sit every once and while. EXCUSE ME ITS A ROCK CONCERT??? Also there was the fact that I had already sat down a couple of times, I was just standing during the songs I really liked. If I wanted to sit on my A$$ I would of stayed home and listened to a Genesis CD.

Pooh, pooh on you Scotia Bank Place... I think you'll be getting a call from me on Monday morning to complain about this.

In the morning my Mum and I are hitting the road to Montreal. We'll be stopping shortly at Emburn to pick up Kathy. We're going to go for a bit of a walk in the old city... meet up with my oldest friend Andrew. The main reason for the trip to Montreal, to check out the Lakeshore Guild's annual exhibit at Stewart House.

I'm about ready for bed!

Glad that you had a good time despite the idiots who didn't realize that they were at a rock concert. I hope that doesn't happen to me when I go!

Give me a break! Sit down at a Genesis concert!! I saw Phil Collins at Scotia Bank Place a few years ago and not many were seated throughout the whole concert.
I wanted to see Genesis sooo badly but wasn't able to get tickets, at least ones that I could afford!LOL
Have a good day in Montreal.

Looks like it was a smoking good time - MINUS the annoying fuddy duddies....

Sounds like you had a great time.

I always enjoy your photo hunt pictures but as a Dutch-Canadian I especially enjoyed seeing the tulips in Ottawa.

Hi Dani,

reading about your progress on the piece that you're stitching for me has me all excited, and so curious!

The Genesis concert must have been fantastic. But I wonder sometimes about these venues and their policies. We saw Elton John and Billy Joel at the Skydome a number of years ago now. We had first row, in the second section on the floor. There was a wide gap between first and second section to allow people to walk to their seats on the floor. We thought nothing of that (plenty of room to stretch our legs) until the concert started. For over half an hour into the concert people, in a solid mass, continued to walk to their seats in front of us! While E. John and B. Joel were on stage! We had to stand on our chairs to see anything, and these were flimsy folding chairs that weren't meant for that sort of punishment. The time the concert starts is on your ticket people. If you show up late too bad, so sad. You can bl**dy well stand at the sides or in the halls and wait for an intermission.
The odd person running for their seat is one thing, but a continuous movement of a large crowd of people is ridiculous.

End of rant!

Hope you had a good time in Montreal. There's a beautiful city I'd love to see someday.

I love your snowman mitten too. Very bright and cheerful colours, as is the snowman's rosy cheeked face. Can't wait for the new ornament magazine to arrive.

It sounds like a wonderful time in Montreal, and
I hope you at least were able to enjoy most of the music at the concert.
I saw them many years ago in Toronto. And thought they had the best lighting show ever.

Geez! Its not a movie, but a concert! I'd expect for you and everyone else to be standing. Nuts. I'm glad it was a good show, minus the interruptions!
