Dustin' Off The Devil's Horns!

My luck showed up yesterday afternoon, and some last minute tickets were released for last night's Metallica concert! When tickets first went on sale, Todd wasn't interested in going (we first saw them back in the late 90's) but then he heard Lamb of God was one of the opening act and he changed his mind! Of course by that time the show was sold out. This turned out to be a little bit of a early Christmas present for Todd. We had a great time at the show ... except we were wayyyyyy up high! I'm becoming quite the concert snob, I love being in the lower level seats or on the floor. There's just so much more energy the closer you get to the stage!

The opening acts were Volbeat and Lamb of God, here's Lamb of God in action... see the HUGE stage???

Of course with Metallica there has to be lasers...

Rockin' tunes... with heart rumbling base!

... and Pyro!

None of the opening acts were able to fill that huge stage the way Metallica did. Despite the big stage, and 8 microphones... not once did it seem like a big empty space!

I have been trying to stitch when I can... I've finished up two of three ornaments I need for my various exchanges for the Christmas season. I've got one more to do, but I haven't had the time to pick out the pattern, let alone pull supplies out of my stash!
Good news, I dropped 1.5lbs yesterday! The trick for this week will be to keep them off, its only Wednesday and its already been a challenge to eat proper meals. Last night due to time constraints Todd treated me to McDonald's, delicious, salty, goodness LOL! I just need to keep making smart choices the rest of the week, and be active!

Oh my gosh that stage is just huge! I think the largest concert arena in this area is only a smidge bigger than it LOL. Glad you enjoyed the concert (and the McD's)

Nice. I wouldn't say Concert Snob... We were right up front on the floor at ACC for ACDC and it was a blast. Concert Poor maybe lol. Glad you had a chance to see Metallica, they do put on a good show.
Be always in stitches.

You may have had seats in the stratosphere but they did give you a good vantage point for photos ... love those birds-eye views of the lasers and flash pots.

Oh Metallica, they are starting to look old. My husband's favorite group :) I prefer Def Leppard :)
Looks like a great show and the stage IS huge!

You lucky girl --- all that and McDonald's too! Congrats on the weight loss ---

I find sometimes breaking diet -- i.e. a bit of McD's -- makes me more willing to be careful.

I saw those guys (Metallica) a LOOOONG time ago, last summer when their new stuff came out...I have to admit, I was sorta disappointed...they need to hang up the hat and retire...Still, a killer band, for sure!!! Glad you had a great time...your post definitely brought back memeories.

Hi Dani,

Your seats may have been up in the
heights but your pictures still
turned out terrific. And they are
of an interesting angle that shows
off all the special effects and all
the action very well.

Glad to hear those pesky pounds
are dropping away again. I'm sure
that you worked off the Mickey D's
during the concert anyways.

I missed my meeting this week
because of work (month end plus
year end = chaos) so didn't get
to weigh myself. Am thisclose to
the 60 pounds dropped mark.

Curves is interesting and I like
the workout the different machines
provide, but am still very much a
newbie and a weakling with the
lot of them. Xena I'm not.

Cheers!

I'm glad you had a great time at the concert even if you were way up. I wanted to get tickets but didn't get my act together when they came out. I guess I'll wait for the concert video if they make one.

My mouth started watering when I read Mickey D's! LOL!!!
So long to that 1.5 pounds! I only lost .8 at my last meeting. Then my computer broke, so I couldn't post about it, I'll get to that sometime in the next day or two.
What a fun concert to go to. Are your ears back to normal yet?
