G.S.T.

G.S.T, and I don't mean the Goods and Services Tax that the Canadian Federal Government charges us on almost everything.  I'm referring to Goals, Stitching, and Tea!

First, G - Goals
We're now four days into June and I haven't shared with you what I'd like to get done this month.  I didn't set any goals last month so there's no review from May.

June Stitching Goals

  • Finish ABC Christmas Sampler
  • Stitch one ornament
  • Maybe work on The Accolade

Next, S - Stitching
As you all know I've been plugging away at ABC Christmas Sampler and over the weekend I completed two more letters!  "T" for Tree, and "U" for Unwrap, now U was pretty darned small.

Here's the whole sampler at a glance, as you can see I've started "V" for Voice, one of the larger blocks.

Finally, T - Tea

On Sunday I went to one of Ottawa's landmark buildings, the Chateau Laurier... a swanky hotel!  The office girls at work and I have our own little lotto pool.  We've not won anything big, but throughout the year, instead of reinvesting our smaller winnings into more tickets, we put it into an envelope.  This year its allowed us to go out for brunch at Christmas time, and this past Sunday, we went for High Tea at "The Chateau".  Its not a cheap outing, but it was so lovely going for High Tea, something I've never done before.  The food was so good, and the tea fantastic!  Its something I'd love to do again.

Oooooooooooooo...love the gold Smyrna crosses on *unwrap*.

So, when you are all done, do you send this on to someone else or is it yours?

The buildings in Ottawa are SO beautiful. You are lucky to live in such a gorgeous place. Color me jealous.

We had a lovely lunch at the Laurier when we were there a couple of years ago. I loved it. It was all decorated for Christmas at the time.
Love the progress!

The Christmas Alpha finish for June seems lofty to me but I have faith that you can pull it off. High tea sounds like a perfect indulgence. Fyi, I miss seeing Accolade, maybe next month? CJ in OK

Great stitching!

That's a great idea to save up the lotto - I'm in a pool too and we always reinvest, we don't even take a week off when we win something, just buy more. So it never really feels like we're winning at all! It sure would this way though :)

Your sampler is so close now to being finish - I think we have all fallen in love with that piece as we have watched you stitch it.

What a wonderful adventure - High Tea. We do not have that in the States...

Kathy's Christmas sampler is looking so good!
I love high tea. My grandmother used to take us to tea when we were kids. Then Bob and I were fortunate enough to book seats at the Empress Hotel in Victoria for tea. It was amazing!

Looks like some great goals! Awesome progress on the Sampler! It is very close to being done! High Tea sounds like it was a wonderful experience! The Chateau is gorgeous! Someone should make a pattern of it, I'd stitch it! (Yes! I'm weird, when I see pretty things I think "Oh, that would make a gorgeous cross stitch!")LOL

I have no doubt that you'll meet your June goals, Dani!! Your Christmas piece is almost done :) It is looking so pretty.

High tea sounds very impressive--not a tea drinker myself, but I sure would like those little teacakes and other goodies!

Cheering you on to a finish!! It's looking great. And what a great idea with the smaller lotto winnings - may not win the big one but a fun day out with friends is a great prize also.

You'll definately have a finish to this, you've really accomplished such a lot since you were given it.

High tea looks so yummy, lucky you!

Best wishes.

Ah ha! GST! I seriously thought this post would be about how we got rid of the gst. Wouldn't that be amazing?! Great goals Dani and I love watching your Christmas sampler grow to fruition. Having high tea sounds like it was a lot of fun!!

Yumm!!! Your high tea looks divine. I have been to the Windsor Hotel in Melbourne a couple of times for high tea, as you say not cheap, but o' so delicious.
