First Stash of the Year!

Once upon a time I used to buy a lot of stash, I don't buy anywhere near as much as I used to.  Part of that is because I already have a lot of it... I mean a lot, I have a room.  I have a good selection of fabrics and fibers, and well so many charts I don't know where to start!  The main reason I haven't been buying charts like I used to is because a lot of what's being released these days just aren't to my tastes.  Yes there's one here or there I'd like to have but nothing on the scale I used to purchase charts in.  The up side to this... I have lots to stitch!

So over the holidays I ordered myself a new pair of designer Gingers!  That seems to be my latest craze, collecting these fancy-handled beauties!  These Sonia scissors are my latest acquisition.

Here's the whole Gingher family I've put together chez Dani.

Thanks to everyone who pointed out where my mistake was on the ornament I posted a few days ago.  Some of you have asked had I found it yet?  Yes I have, and look the circle meets up!

Here's the PhotoHunt from November 28, 2010 the theme was "technology"
One of the highlights of my adult years has been witnessing this piece of technology rocketing off into space.  When I was a kid, we rarely missed a shuttle launch that was televised.  I was even very lucky when once it did a low level fly over of the suburb of Montreal I lived in (back in the 80's).  During my first trip to visit Claire in Jacksonville (the same visit where yesterday's bird came from) there happened to be a launch while I was down there, we were in St. Augustine that day and we decided on the spur of the moment to drive down to Cape Canaveral to make it to the launch.  What an AMAZING experience, this was as close as we could get to the launch site but it was still wayyyy cool!

Isn't the "rumble" amazing! The first time we saw one at the coast I was blown away how you could feel it in your chest.

At my house, we have a good view, but we only hear it if the wind is just right.

Cute scissors --- I have four pair, but only one is fancy.

Ooh, new scissors, yummy lol. I'm a scissor collector but only have one pair of Ginghers so far.
Glad you found your mistake and frogged it easily.

Gingher's....ahhh...they are gorgeous :)
Love yours!
And St. Augustine....my favorite place on earth. I've witnessed a shuttle launch once down there...now they won't be happening anymore :(

Stunning scissors. Glad your circle is meeting now. How fantastic to see a rocket launch - something I would very much love to see.

Gee whiz, I just added a pair of scissors to my wish list at Nordic Needle and now you are going to make me add some more! =D

I'd love to see a shuttle launch some day. I was in FL when one was scheduled, but it ended up being postponed, so I didn't get to see it.

Cute scissors. I'd love to go stash diving in your room and see if our tastes coincide.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Your new scissors! They are adorable! Those fancy Ginghers are hard to pass up.

Glad that you were able tog et your circle to meet!

I remember watching the shuttles on tv as a kid. I'll never forget the first one I saw. It was the Space Shuttle Challenger in the 80s. There was a teacher on board and all of the occupents passed away when it crashed. I was home sick from school that day. Funny how some things stay in our minds like that. It was very sad.

I'm with you! I used to buy stash like crazy. I think it was so bad that every month when the new releases would come out, I would be ordering something. But I have settled down in that now. Now I look at a lot of the stash that I did buy and never got around to stitching and it's not even my taste anymore. Oh well. Still lots and lots there that I love though.
Your scissors are GORGEOUS! That is one thing that I haven't gotten into yet. I'm afraid to start! LOL

Pretty Ginghers! As far as I'm concerned, they don't count for stash. They're a necessity aren't they?!
