February TUSAL & More

Its TUSAL time, sorry no artistic photography this month, just a jar, that's all!  You can seem some of the reds and greens from my smalls stitching the last few days.

I've had a couple of finishes this weekend and I've done a wee bit of finishing too.

 'Tis Red
La-D-Da
2010 Just Cross Stitch Ornament Issue
Stitched on 30ct Coconut Macaroon Linen
Stitched with Caron Waterlillies Emerald

Red Threads Letter C
Rosewood Manor
Used the same fabric/threads as above since I had a little fabric left after the ornament.  I stitched and finished this on Saturday

 Merry Christmas Deer
c2012 Little Stitcher Freebie
Stitched on 32ct Dirty Linen Belfast
Stitched with Carrie's Creation Colonial Red & DMC

I also whipped up a back for this ornament

I finally did the finishing on this little Drawn Thread Freebie I recently stitched

How do you store your ornaments and small pieces awaiting finishing?  I used to store mine in either a big ziplock or a large zipper mesh bag.  A couple of my quilting friends use scrapbooking boxes to keep their blocks in while piecing their quilts.  I thought well, they're 12x12 that seems ideal for my ornaments/smalls.  This past week all storage was 40% off at Michaels so I thought why not, and picked two up.  I'm quite pleased with them.

I store mine that way too as long as they are small enough to fit in it. I'm also storing quite a few of my finishing supplies in another one. You've had a busy month!

What cute little finishes!! I love that storage idea.

Looks like you got quite a bit of stitching done.

I finish my ornaments as I stitch them. Then the finished items go into a medium size Sterilite box awaiting Christmas or give-away.

Very cute finishes, Dani--I need to stitch that reindeer freebie myself some day!

For the past few years I've been stitching and finishing my ornaments and small pillows as I go, but before that was a different story! I have drawer full of old unfinished finishes in a big armoir where I house many of my stitching supplies. Hope to whittle them down a bit this year :)

Great ornie finishes Dani! I love that storage idea. I may have to get one to store my smalls that are in transition of being finish-finished.

Lovely finishes, especially the little deer.
I store my unfinished finishes in a series of "very safe places" meaning I cane never find any of them, perhaps I should adopt your logical box storage strategy

You were really busy with finishes and finishing. Everything looks great. And I see that you also stitched the red and white ornament that I love very much. I think I'll finally have to start it, too.
I keep all my WIPs and finished pieces in storage boxes. Works great for me.

Wow, you got a lot done. Your TUSAL jar is a testament to that. Everything looks great. I like the storage idea. All my unfinished stuff is in a dresser drawer.

What? You're supposed to finish them? LOL! Seriously I keep all my unfinished and unframed items in an acid free quilt box I got when the last store I worked for closed. I'll have to go through it and see what I can pull out to finish.

Great finishes, Dani - looks like you had a very productive weekend. The scrapbooking storage box looks like a great solution.

Dani
Congratulations on all your finishes. They are all lovely. I love your storage containers for your finished pieces.

Love your smalls! You've gotten lots done this weekend! :)

Mine are stored in a scrapbooking container too. My mom came up with the idea and picked one up for me a few months ago. It works great!

Congrats on all the finishes Dani. I love all the ornaments and you did a great job at finishing them. All my finishes are in one big plastic storage tub. Maybe someday I will learn how to finish them.

I like your reds in green :)
I've seen those boxes before in blogland but this is the first time I've seen anyone say what they are. Thanks. Might have to check them out :)

Great stitching! I have two boxes which are very similar, one has all my cross stitch projects and the other has my fabrics and wool, they are handy and at least this way I don't lose anything!

I LOVE those scrapbooking cases! I use them for storing my finishes awaiting finishes. I also them for my current and WIP's. Each project them I'm working on has it's own box.

Love the Little Stitcher freebie that you finished. It's on my list of ones I want to stitch this year.

Hmm, that's a smart way of storing stitching waiting to be finished. I think I need to hit a Michael's!! You sure have busy fingers with all your finishes!! I really love that La-D-Da design and I think I'll have to stitch it again. The green is so pretty! The little scissor fob is cute too. I love the Little Stitcher freebie. It's one I still need to stitch! The Drawn thread finish is lovely too!!

I love the deers, how the white pops out! :D
Curious.. I've been organizing my craft room too :) I used to put everything on the same drawer, now I have one drawer jus for wips, another for finished things that I'm saving or things that are fully stitched but need to be finished into something! I will showed on my blog how I storage everything too ;)

Wow lots of finishes and all of them are terrific. I am partial to the "C" of course, but the reindeers are pretty great too. The boxes are genius so I may have to try that out. Thanks for the tip. CJ in OK

Great idea with the storage boxes, you now have me wondering whats in your 'to finish' pile.

Lots of lovely x's to see in this post, well done.

Dani your finishes are ALL so pretty. Loved seeing them. Yes 12x12 containers are great - mine I have all scrapbooking. But I now will make one for storing flat finishes - thank you for sharing.

Very cute finishes. My side of the den is filled with those 12X12 boxes. I use them for storing finished pieces as well as kitted projects (one for smalls, each Chatelaine kit has its own box with the printd parts, etc.) I also use them for pattern storage. If I have a lot of one designer than all of their designs are in one box. They fit perfectly on the shelves I put in the closet - almost make me look organized.

That's a great storage idea for finished pieces! I'll have to remember that and check them out next time I'm at Michaels.
