Starting Out Right

Oh my goodness!!! Two posts in one day!

As you can see last night I had a little help packing my suitcase.

This morning I was all ready to go, one last day of work and three and a half weeks of sweet, sweet freedom!

I stopped for my last descent cup of tea before entering the US (according to my Dad descent tea does not come in a paper cup). Sadly my southern friends just don't know what a good cup of tea is, I'd rather go without for a week.

My drive down to Syracuse was uneventful which is what we all want. The border crossing was actually pleasant this time, had a bit of a chit chat with the US Customs guy. I have to say its "quite boring" sticking to the speed limit.

To try to start relaxing I treated myself to a pedicure... There is also the fact that I was so exhausted last night I just forgot to do it and my red chipped polish was quite unsightly.

I had dinner in bed...

I'm about to pick up my stitching, I've packed Cirque des Circles by Ink Circles for this next week. Here it is before I pick it up, I last worked on it during my Dominican Experience trip this past February. This is becoming a well travelled piece!

I'm up early tomorrow morning for my flight, next time I'll be blogging from Charleston, S.C.

- thanks for reading!

Have a great time! What constitutes great tea? In the south, it's cold and super sweet and we drink it year round.

Perfect start to your trip!!! Stay away from the sweet tea. You should be able to have a good cup or 2 of hot tea in Charleston :) Love the color you picked for your pedi.

I know how you feel about the tea. In my own home, I have at least 15 varieties of loose tea, black or green or white or oolong, and I know how to brew it properly. But I know what you mean, I travel with my tea, an electric kettle, a water filtering pitcher, my own china mug and a small teapot. I can't go too long without a proper cup of tea. I have been known to ask for a pot of hot water at a restaurant and produce my own tea ball filled with my own tea. My daughter claims it's a miracle I haven't been arrested for possession of marijuana since I always have a packet of loose tea in my purse. My current favorites are Imperial Keemun and Scottish Breakfast.

Enjoy your vacation! I have to agree with your dad on the tea... no good cup of tea comes in a paper cup lol.

Look forward to seeing Ink Circles when you get back!

Sounds like your vacation is off to a great start, Dani--sorry about our tea :) I'm not a tea drinker at all, so I wouldn't know a good cup from a bad one!!

Hope you get some stitching time--Ink Circles is really coming along nicely :)

Hi Dani! It has been too long since I visited but see you are off on vacation. How fun. Charleston is beautiful. I am sure you will have a great time.

I am a Yorkshire tea gal myself. It is the only good tea for me. I do have to say your dad sounds a wise man...lol.

Hugs from Holland ~
