Help Wanted

Okay all you fabric junkies out there I'm looking for your suggestions! If you're a faithful reader (thank you by the way) you'll know that a little while ago I ordered Mirabilia's Christmas Elf Fairy. I've seen so many fantastic HD's of this and I KNOW it has to be stitched on a sparkly hand dyed fabric.

The problem is what fabric???? I've spent the last hour surfing the net and I can't settle on anything. So if you have a great idea or a favorite hand dyed fabric I'd love for you to share. Or if you've stitched CEF could you share a link to your finished piece or WIP and what fabric you've stitched it on.

I have a feeling I'm going to want to stitch this as soon as it shows up... of course I have to finish those models first!

Here's mine. It's stitched on Silkweaver's Winter Skye Opalescent Lugana. http://pic5.picturetrail.com/VOL95/131766/6197223/120428174.jpg

I stitched mine on Silkweaver's Sparkling Cidar 28 ct Opalescent Lugana. I admit, I did run out of the main wing color - but that may be because I messed up a section and had to remove some stitches and redo them.

Mine can be seen here...

I've seen it stitched up in a LNS and it was done on a color simular to silkweaver's brown sugar that looked fabulous.

Dani - I have seen a few people stitch her up on a sparkly blue/purple type of fabric a la Silkweaver... perhaps Charizma? I also think she might look good on Silkweaver's Green Apple Reflections :-) Or.... perhaps a sparkly neutral shade like Moon Dust Reflections?? I will be facing the same dilemma at some point too when I can fit her in!

If you do stitch her soon, we would love to have you in our Mirabilia SAL group - it is very informal but very chatty - you might like it!

I was tempted to order this design--she is very cute. I have several Mirabilia's all kitted up, but I have yet to work on one!! I am sure you will choose a lovely fabric!

have you tried any from Countrystitch Dani? Linda does a great job and if you have something in mind she will dye it specially for you.

I know you will find something good.
