I finished this tonight...
Mini Spanish Cottages 5
c2004 Michael Powell
Stitched on 14ct aida using Anchor cotton floss
Tonight, before I hit the hay I'll start my February ornament. Tomorrow I have a full day to work on Tour Des Marques (or as long as my eyes can put up with it), its a new provincial holiday for us : Family Day!
Friday I brought Christin home with me and she stayed until this afternoon. This morning Manon stopped by to stitch with us, until the rain started. We're now being hit by rain from Texas no big deal right? That is until we go below zero (we're hovering around there now) then my winter wonder land (which I would gladly give up for warm temps!) will turn into an icy world that can be dangerous at times.

Dani, I love that Michael Powell design and you did a GREAT job stitching it! Do you know if they ever published it in a magazine?
Wow, congrats on that Michael Powell!!!! It looks great.
Hooray for Michael Powell!! I have Mini Christmas Window 2 to start the next time I travel. There is never enough Michael Powell. Maybe I will even start one of his larger ones. Oh, you are a temptress, Dani!
Congrats on your finish! Backstitching can be a pain but very necessary to add that final touch that bring the piece to life ;-)
Well done!!
I never use 2 strands of black to do the back stitching tho'.
I finished the mini spanish 6 - it took me more than a year(!!).
But I do love them so.
Congratulations, it looks great!
My DH was telling me all about the rain :(
I really like your finish. What are your plans for it?
I love the Spanish cottage. You did a great job. I can see what you mean about the backstitching. Did you say you were in Texas? Sounds like the same kind of weather we have been having in Chicago! Rain, below zero temps and then snow and ice. Nice.
OOps, a correction! You didn't say you were in Texas! Sorry, must have my coffee before I start commenting.
Like I said, I need coffee before I start blogging! I tagged you! Isn't that more important than the weather?
Enjoy the holiday Dani! I thought I may have had Dan home today too if the temperature had plunged. However it is above 0 here so all that rain has not frozen (yet).
The MP is looking good. Have fun with Tour.
Thanks for using your blog to help Barb out and thanks to Darla for having the thread she needed!
Hurray on your finish! It's lovely :)
Hope it just turns into more snowland and not icy land...yikes!
great finish!

Great job! Those little houses are fun I just have not backstitched anything in so long I tend to steer clear! Hope your weather turns out all right, I think Spring is trying to come early this year here then we will have a big freeze and everything gets killed!
I love backstitching to see the picture come to life. I didn't find much from Nashville that I liked either. She brought back a lot of quaker type designs. Not my thing, but very popular right now.TO each is own. Gingerbread houses aren't my thing either. I'm about ready to throw them out the window. But I love my friend.
Your Michael Powell piece looks absolutely fantastic!
Cool design.
I'm really hoping this storm will pass us by.
Your cottages look great Dani, congratulations
Your cottage turned out darling. So cute!
Beautiful finish! I just love Michael Powell designs.
Can you see me doing the happy dance for you. The cottage is soooo pretty!
Congrats to you!
Happy stitching on Tour. I might do the same today!
I love the Michael Powell Designs! Yours looks fantastic. Can I ask? Where did you get your chart? Or did you by a kit? I would put this on my wish list, if I had one!
WOW your MP looks stunning I love his designs
What a cute design. Congrats on the finish ;)
Fantastic Finish on your Michael Powell!
Very cute, and it looks summery (which is what I wish it was). We got that nasty rain that froze too, what a mess.
Sue
Yup, nothing like backstitches to define a piece. Love them or hate them, they sure do make our stitching come alive. Gratz on the beautiful Michael Powell finish!
So colorful!! Congratulations on your finish!
I love it!! Congrats on the finish!
Beautiful finish! Stay warm!
