Zero, Zip, Zilch, Nada...

Another crappy week at the scales last night. Despite dropping my points a little (I changed my points profile from spending my work day on my feet to sitting all the time), and working my ass off at Taekwon-Do and some running the scale didn't budge. At this point it just seems so very hard and frustrating because the scale doesn't budge, or budge that much. Also you don't have very many "non-scale victories". These two factors make it hard to feel like I'm experiencing any progress. In the last few months, I've given up or cut down a lot of my favourite treats, I've also pretty much cut out all artificial sweeteners and even these changes haven't made the difference I was hoping for. I guess its time to stop denying myself the things I was enjoying a few short months ago as treats. Also Weight Watchers isn't about denial but moderation and making smart choices. I know I have come so far, and I'm so much better for it. Its just so hard when you have a goal in mind, not far out of sight and no matter how hard you're trying its just as far away.

I've been plugging away at Blackstone Fantasy Garden and still really enjoying putting in the outlines for the knotwork.

Tomorrow after work, I have to clean the house arrrrgh! I've been putting it off all week and now I'm out of time and it has to be done tomorrow!

Ok Dani. I am getting serious about WW again. I lost 100 pounds several years ago.
This is going to sound REALLY crazy, but my counselor there told me that when I hit a plateau to INCREASE my intake. Just slightly. And slow down on the exercise. Then after a week go back to your normal routine. This sometimes helps "jostle" your metabolism.
You have done so well and I am proud of you. You are an inspiration to me.

I think Donna is right. You need to get your body out of it's comfort zone. Eventually you will reach your goal.
Your Fantasy Garden looks fantastic

I tend to agree with Donna too, relax for a week or two, then start again. You've done so amazingly well to lose the weight you have and I have complete confidence that you will hit your target, probably when you least expect it!

Why don't you try to add weight training? They say if the scale doesn't move anymore, you have to work out differently as the body seems to get used to a routine. Then it may take one month to get results.

Dani-hang in there-like the others have said, change your routine for a couple of weeks. I know how frustrating it is...I was 1.5 pounds from my goal when my life turned upside down.

It will happen. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.

Here's the good news, even if you're not losing a single pound your body is still reaping the rewards of regular exercise. That's what I tell myself every day when I step on the treadmill for a run. ;)

Go you! You are doing great! My WW also worked better when I upped the points some at the end when I was on my last 5 pounds.

It might also help to measure your waist, hips, legs, arms...since you sport so much lately, surely muscles must have strengthen...muscles weight more than fat, and the outline of your shape is probably visible in your clothes...so if the scale does not provide you the reward, maybe the inches will... Good progress on your stitching! Ann

I can only imagine how frustrated you are feeling, but try to remember just how far you've come already - how many lifestyle changes you've made and the positive impact all those things are having and will continue to have on your life.

You will get to your goal - you've come too far and accomplished too much to not get there. Have a little patience with yourself. It'll happen.

BFG looks wonderful too, BTW.

Ugh! I feel your pain. You've gotten some great suggestions in the comments. Hopefully one of them will work for you. BFG is beautiful!

You will get there, I have watched you change in the last year and you are truly dedicated. I have faith that you will figure out how to get your body where you want it - I inspire to be like you. See you in ONE MORE SLEEP!

I feel your pain ... no loss this week for me either ... I am trying hard to count this as a victory because I didn't gain back any of the weight I lost when I was sick last week ... but I really worked at my self-discipline this week and expected to see at least a fractional loss.
I just read in the newsletter my healthcare insurance sends out that papaya [actually the enzyme papein in papaya]helps raise the metabolic rate and jump starts a sluggish weight loss experience. I have been using papaya as my lunchtime fruit for a few days now and will report its effects next week [on my own blog]
In any case, keep up the good work ... it has been your progress that inspired me to get serious again.

I feel your pain - I'm three pounds away from goal and I'm at 18 points a day. I can't seem to get there and can't find anything else to limit. Hang in there! There was some good advice in your comments, hopefully something will work for you. :-)

What a nightmare. You've got some great advice here - the most imortant thing to remember is how far you have come, not where you want to gte. Why not go easy for a couple of weeks, not try too hard, then have a mini re-start? It might kick start your metablolism, but also having a little break may help mentally too - getting back into the swing will feel more like anew start, not a continuation of a process that's becomming frustrating. I've been goping to the gym since Christmas, and I've lost about a kilo overall.. but that won't stop me. After all you look fabulous and most feel so much fitter than you were before you started.

I think you need to treat yourself - but maybe to stash and a massage rather than necessarily pizza and chocolate!

Good luck. {{{hugs}}}

Hi, Dani: I'm sending you positive thoughts re: reaching your WW goal! It is hard work, and I think you're doing a great job!

Blackstone is looking wonderful!

I am not a weight expert or anything like that but I will say that I know that when you do let your self have a little treat once in a while it helps you stay focused and don't make it seem so hard. Moderation is the perfect word for it. Let yourself have a little something at times. As far as the scale not budging, well, at least it is not going up! That is a good good thing!

Just don't give up!!!! You are doing a fantastic job and you are getting healthier no matter if you are loosing a lot of weight or not! Sometimes, we focus to much on the scale and not enough on the fact that we are getting healthier!! Your doing great Dani, don't give up!!!

I also agree with Donna . . . change up things a bit and then go back to your normal things. Plateau's get in the way and you have to get over that hump. And YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Your progress is looking amazing!!!

FG looks amazing.

Maybe whipping through the housework will do the trick for you, a different kind of exercise.

Hi Dani, I have never been in your position about loosing weight ...yet! BUT I read you here and think you have done fantastically well, I can't even begin to comprehend the discipline this must take. I totally admire your stamina and those extra pounds will budge, of that I am sure :-))

take care x

All I can say is..."what they said" up there.
Who am I to talk? I lasted what? Six weeks? I am feeling pretty down on myself. I can't move much cause I am having trouble with my feet and I am afraid that it has something to do with my weight...A conundrum!
My best wishes to you though and high hopes that you will soon reach goal.
Then you can come and give me pep talks to get me going on myself! You don't have to wait for goal todo that though.

Blackstone Fantasy Garden is beautiful. I love the colors.

The weight thing can be really frustrating. I've lost so much off my butt and thighs that my pants look baggy, but I can't go down a size because the waist would be too tight. ARGH!

Guess I need to start doing more ab work.
