Replying to an Old SBQ

Here's the SBQ from April 19th :

Q : Are you on "The Wagon?" If so, how long have you been on and how"serious" are you about it? If not, have you considered it?

A : I was on the wagon from January until Easter. I didn't want to buy any stash before going on vacation to California/Arizona.... save money ya' know! But once that was over... I instantly participated in the first sale that came along (at Easter).

Friday I called my Dr's office to find out why I still don't have an appointment for my biopsy. I was essentially told we'll call you if we hear anything today.... we put a rush on your request. I was told to call back on Monday when the nurse who deals with all appointments, referrals etc would be in. I can tell you if I get no answer that satisfies me on Monday I'll be demanding that my Dr. get in touch with me... and I'll be calling the Breast Cancer clinic at the Hospital myself!

Oh Dani! ((hugs)) You shouldn't have to deal with that frustration at this time! Give them hell if they give you the run around!

I'm sorry that they seem to be procrastinating, the waiting and not knowing is bad enough without that. I hope you get some better answers on Monday. Hang in there and don't let them put you off.

Good for you, standing up for yourself. Half of getting through a nerve-racking time is being assertive. You go girl! (((HUGS)))

At a time like this you should not have to deal with this also. These 'professional'people need to get their act together.

One thing I've learned in all the time I've spent with my youngest son and his wide and varied medical issues is this: You have to be your own advocate. No one in this health system will do anything for you unless you initiate it. So, you have to ride people's butts to get the care you require. Keep fighting and pushing and you'll get what you need.

Oh, and don't expect them to call you with results (even if they're bad results). My little one has had numerous tests where if I hadn't called to find out his results, they would have been ignored completely! Luckily he has nothing life-threatening, but some of his results have affected upcoming surgeries and strategies for his long-term health....

At the end of the day - you need to drive the car for your health. Go fight girl! :-)
