February Ornament

This ornament was a quickie to stitch up, and boy I'm glad! I feel like all of a sudden a bunch of stitching has fallen into my lap and I'm never going to get to "my stuff"! This week I've gotten in the mail the supplies for the last 3 models in the series I have been doing for A Needle Pulling Thread (that makes a total of 6 pieces in under 6 months!). Also the next installment in the Neighbourhood RR I'm in has shown up. I know that one of my models is due April 1st so, I'm going to have to start that soon, the other two have a lengthier deadline. Also I've just checked and the RR has to go out on Apirl 1st as well, EEEK! I better get cracking!

At this point Moonlight Guardian hasn't been touched in a month (I may splurge and spend a day with it this weekend)! I know as soon as those latest Double Flips get here I'll want to dive right into those... and I'll have to resist! Oh well the sooner I get these projects started, the sooner they'll be done right?

At the moment I'm facing two personal quandries that seems to be on my mind a lot. They're not huge issues really and they're not serious but perhaps if I put them down here, they'll leave me alone for awhile. The first one : what on earth am I going to do during March Break (8th-16th)? Unfortunately this year I'm not going somewhere warm and sunny, and after this winter I so badly want to do that! So am I going to visit friends? A day trip to Montreal? Am I going to go mad, hop in my car and either drive to Myrtle Beach or show up on Claire's doorstep in Chatanooga? Those who have read this blog for some time know I have no quandries about jumping into my car and driving 17 hours! Who knows, but its funny how much its bothering me this year that I don't have "solid" plans. I think I was spoilt last year getting to spend the week in San Diego, Ca. and Yuma, Az.!
The second one : my b-day is coming up in about a month (March 27th), and of course I'm getting the age old question... "what do you want for your birthday?". I've almost always had a very clear idea of what I've wanted and have not hesitated to let the right people know. This year that's not the case... if I was going away, the answer would be simple... $ money $ I'm just amazed that there isn't anything I really want (except maybe a haircut)... I mean I always want/am eyeing something! Hmmmm...
See what silly things obsess me lately?

Wow, and I thought I had stitching problems! You're the fastest stitcher I *know*, so I'm sure you'll do fine.

I can help you with your first dilemma: come visit NYC!

My husband and I find birthdays and Christmas almost impossible. When we want something we just buy it. And lately I feel as you do. There's really not much that I want except more time and more sleep. Maybe your husband could do something that you usually do for a week, like laundry or cooking. That's a gift of time.

Chattanooga is closer than Mrytle Beach. :-)

I had the exact same problem this year. All I want is a newer car and a new sewing machine - too expensive for a birthday pressie!

Lovely ornament. How about a chilling week of stitching for your weeks break?

I'm sure you will manage to get all your stitching done but I do hope that you have a very good light to stitch under! lol!! As far as holidays and birthday pressies... My eldest is 15 on Sunday and he doesn't know what he would like either! Good Luck with it all.

Hope you can decide what to do on your break and what you would like for your birthday.

It's okay to not know what you want for your birthday-ask for gift cards to your favorite stores.
As for your break...come down to NC and I'll show you around! :)

Now, don't read anything into this, because I'm not trying to imply anything :) but I find that the older I get, the less I want. When I was a kid, or even into my mid-20s, I always had a wishlist about a mile long. Now, I just sort of wave away these sorts of quetsions and say 'I don't need anything'. It so used to annoy me when my parents did it to me, ha ha, I'm turning into my mum!

I know you'll find something great to do during your break in March! Maybe it will be stitching all those models LOL

Oh what a dilemma - what to do for March break. Book into a nice B&B somewhere and stitch to your hearts content. Or run away to Myrtle Beach - warm weather. Birthday - how about a gift certificate to Knowledge and Needles girl!!!!
Three more models - are you crazy??? I know you stitch fast but you are going to burn out doing all this stuff. Take care of yourself whatever you chose.

I think you made great progress! Love the blue you are using!

Bautiful finish!!

Nice finish! One standard thing I always ask for is foreign cross stitch magazines... I rarely buy them because they are so pricey (or really because I am just cheap?) so it's a good way to get spoiled a bit :)

Your ornie looks spectacular!!!!

Hmmm...a week without obligations and do whatever I wished sounds DIVINE! You know what I would do?! I'd stitch, read, sleep and take myself out to lunch/dinner everyday...get good movies I've always wanted to watch and stitch some more and watch them! :)
But that's me...I'm entertained by anything small...LOL! :)

Same problem here with my birthday and that is already in 2 days.
The ornament looks great

Not such a bad problem sometimes you just have to make up your mind the day you jump out of bed! Good Luck with your decision.

That was one of my favorite ornies from this years JCS issue. You did a lovely job stitching it.

Oh I love it!!! You did that one too. I enjoyed mine a lot but I changed the colour.
It really is pretty.
Gift certificate from Knowledge and Needles always works when in doubt!!

I'm voting for the uninterrupted sleep and stitching for spring break. If I had that many models to do, I'd be in freak-out mode! : )

Beautiful ornament!!!

I also get restless when I don't have plans nailed down in advance for vacation, so I feel your pain. I'm sure you will figure something out!!

As for wants...you can never have too many scissors... =)
