The Big Red by The Silver Lining
Stitched over one on 25ct Summer Khaki Lugana
I saved my biggest new start for today, the final day of the challenge! Today's new start was The Big Red by The Silver Lining. This piece is 274 stitches wide by 440 stitches high! I'm stitching it over one on 25ct and the design uses a combination of DMC and Anchor threads giving you a wider pallet for shading. Since I've had so many mis-haps during this challenge I decided to start in the very center of the 16 page chart. From the center point I worked my way up and to the left, so that I would be in my "happy place" the top left hand corner which is where I prefer to start.
Does it look like a bunch of poppies yet? Nope just a purple blob, a red blob, and a pink one!
I wont' be finishing this piece this year, I'm not sure if I'll get back to it any time soon either... but I had been dying to start it for a very long time! Now its started.

Well done! You'll have your hands full with these starts, especially the latest :-)
I'll continue a modified challenge, stitching *old* wips the rest of the month. Contrary to you, I have plenty of wips... but this year I'll do my best to reduce them.
Congrats on surviving the crazy challenge! I love a new start myself, but fifteen in a row in such a short space of time is more than I could take lol.
That is a VERY big project! Will you grid this one too? what kind of thread is used for gridding? you mentioned that you had bought some...Have you ever "parked" your threads on such a big project with so many confetti stitches? What is your opinion on parking threads? Are you still doing Weight Watchers? Have fun stitching all those projects. Ann
Well done on making it through the insanity! It will be fun to see all your WIPs develop.

Well done on making it through the craziness of the last few days, I think a sigh of relief is called for and I'm looking forward to seeing work on EOW again and a settling down to finishing projects. I love the start you made and they may be blobs now but will soon be poppies.
That is a serious BAP!! I will enjoy watching your progress on everything!
COngrats on making it to the end of the challenge! I look forward to seeing your finishes!
Yay, you made it. I'm looking forward to your progress on the poppies.
Congratulations on completing your 15 starts. You are wise to expect some overflow into next year. I know some people managed to complete all 15 last year but I think they salted their list with mostly smalls. I managed to complete 13 out of my 15 and, predictably, it was the larger and more complex pieces that I have yet to finish: Tracery Dragons by Teresa Wentzler, The Black'd Skie by Primitive Needle and Zucca by Alessandra Adelaide.I have added them to my list of 2010-11 WIPs and will be getting back to them soon.
Great starts, it looks like you will have a wonderful group of finishes this year.
The poppy colors are so vibrant, it will be fun to stitch.
Congrats on finishing the challenge!
I have been waiting patiently for you to start big red, since I think it is just beautiful.
I'm sure you will like getting back to your focus piece.
Congratulations on completing your challenge. I"m looking forward to watching your progress on them.
