Crazy Challenge Day 8

Sadly I won't be able to dedicate as much time as I'd like to stitching.  Its time to get back to the real world, and things are going to be busy this month!  I'm sure I'll find the odd moment of sanity here and there through stitching.
Eat, Sleep, Stitch
c2010 Cherrywood Design Studios
Stitched on : 28ct African Daisy Joblean
Stitched with : DMC floss
When I finally did pick up my stitching on Sunday I felt more like finishing something instead of starting a new project (which I did, just in the evening).  Eat, Sleep, Stitch was just a few short hours away from Happy Dance status, so I decided to focus on that first.  I am proud to share with you my first finish of 2012!

As you can see, I was a little challenged in the measurement department when I started this... heck I didn't measure, I just started.  Pretty close to the edge eh?

Polar Friends - Day
Stitcher's Habit
Stitched on 32ct Ocean Fantasy Linen from Silkweavers

Later in the evening I stated my project for this Day 8 of the Crazy Challenge.  It was another small one, Polar Friends - Day, I started night earlier in the week.  This pair is a pleasure to stitch.

Yesterday afternoon, it was Zeus's turn to find a lovely patch in the sunshine.  Very pretty!

Finally on Saturday our replacement treadmill was delivered, and Todd put it together on Sunday morning.  I took it for its inaugural run that evening.  I have to say after a month of not running, plus having a remnant of my cold boy, my cardio, endurance, and speed were all GONE!  How frustrating.  It took me quite a bit of effort to put in about 15 minutes, and I had to do it in a run/walk.  Prior to this whole circus I was running for on average 20 minutes on the treadmill at 5.7... today 5.4 was challenging.  Oh boy... I've got a lot to get back.  There's work to do before my first race in May (Ottawa Race Weekend 10K).

I use the Nike+ GPS app when I run and I got this neat little re-cap of my running year.  I'm quite happy with these results!  I guess I should aim for 500 KM this year?????

FINALLY!

(That's for your treadmill arriving and not your finish...what a saga!) I think your body will ramp up quickly now that you're back in the groove.

Congrats on the finish! I have nightmares sometimes about stitching a huge piece and ending up 2 threads from the edge!!

Congrats on your first finish of 2012!

Great new treadmill (finally) you'll be back to running at usual speed soon. I have to get going on something again (walking first).

Love the finish, and the sentiment of it. I'll have to find that chart. I sort of did the lack of measuring thing with my 12 Days of Christmas ornaments, and they're jammed on the piece of fabric. for a while I was scared I wouldn't be able to fit them on the same piece, and I'd have mis-matched ornaments.

I'm glad you got your treadmill operational. It always seems you lose cardio and strength during a break faster than it takes to build it up.

Woo Hoo to the treadmill, you must be pleased that saga is so over, take your time, the cold will have taken more out of you than the not running for a spell. Love your finish and I like the little day and night you are doing, very cute.

Yay, you finally got the treadmill in! I can understand feeling out of shape after a long period! I think I will try to get back to the gym tonight. I hope I can do 30 minutes without dying or falling off the machine.

Congrats on your finish!

Zeus is gorgeous and the stitching is pretty too. LOL! Glad your treadmill finally arrived. I know how you are feeling about being out of shape. Between the Valley Fever and my shoulder problem, just 10 minutes of exercise wiped me out. But I'm getting back there and so can you. You go, girl!

It won't take long before you're back in top form! I'll be your cheering section since I can hardly walk let alone run these days.
Your first finish is very sweet Dani. I love that sentiment!

Haha! You're like me! I never measure correctly even though I think I do! Good thing you still have a bit of room left to play with. Zeus is too cute for words :D Grats on your running stats! Sheesh, makes me feel like I'm a slow poke...although I biked about that much this summer!

Well done on a really cute finish, and I love your new start for Day 8.
Was so nice to chat to you on imessage the other day, hope we can do it again sometime. Ran 10k in 59.58 today on the treadmill at the gym and it was murder lol, but have to keep thinking of that possible race in March!
