Ornament/Freebie HD

Its Freebie SAL weekend over at Needle and Thread BB so what better way thank to kill two birds with one stone! Not only did I stitch a freebie, but a freebie ornament. It stitched up in a day!

Copyright : c2005
Stitched on/with : 30ct Macaroon Linen using Silk N' ColorsIn the Burgundy and Caron Emerald
What did Todd think of his present? What can I say the asshole in him came out this morning (excuse my language). He barely looked at it and when I said it was for him he made a rude comment about using it to wipe his hands. Needless to say its gone into my finished project bag and won't be coming out for a long time!

Now I can focus on Misty's quilt square.

That's a cute ornament!

Wow, Todd was pretty rude and insensitive. :( I think you using your precious stitching time to make him Gone Fishing was a loving gesture. Maybe one day he'll see it that way too.

Great ornie Dani.... Sorry to hear about Todd's reaction. At times my husband gets cranky about the amount of time that I spend on my stitching and dosen't seem to appreciate the time and effort that goes into stitching a piece. He dosen't take into account the amount of time he spends fishing, chatting with his mates on the computer etc....... Anyhow I think it looks great and would make a great photo album cover!!!!

Sometimes men just don't get it!! I am sorry. Next time he wants something, just throw this example in the mix!! I love the pattern!! I have had the same reaction recently to my Low tide - I think it is divine, himself thinks, 'ok!!' So far I haven't framed it, I don't see the point!!

Your ornie is lovely Dani, I think you need to take a cluex4 to Todd.

Dani, your Gone Fishing is great - you did a fabulous job on it. I am sorry that it wasn't appreciated. Your blackwork ornie is beautiful as well! (although I have to admit that at first glance I thought you had said you stitched this on 30ct Macaroni Linen) Hee hee

I gave up a long time ago giving my work to people I know won't appreciate it. It doesn't make them bad, it's just a matter of realising they don't care about the same things that I do. So, I give my work to people I know will enjoy it and just buy stuff for the rest.

Cheers,
Jane

Oh Dani, that was a rotten thing for Todd to do. At least Ken appreciates my work and always compliments me on the finished articles. Although I've never forgiven him for taking seven of my framed embroideries off the lounge room wall to hang a movie poster in their place! His mum was LIVID!! I never said a word - just took over the spare (bed)room and put all my linen and craft staff in there without consulting him. MIL applauded me for that!

Sorry to hear that Todd didn't appreciate the work. His loss since it's soooo pretty. I also looked at your website and I love the work you have done and your finishing technique images. Congrats on the TWRR too. It's beautiful.
