For Mollie

I heard through the grapevine that Mollie (not Molly) felt all left out after her sister Paddy (not Patti or Patty) recently made it on my blog. Little did Molly know I had pictures of both of the girlie dogs! I look forward to the enthusiastic greeting I'll get from the girls later this week when I go to visit with Ann and Dan!

Well, we survived the snow storm! Looking at the radar, it seems we're pretty much done, we may get the odd light dusting of snow. Todd is getting ready to go out and clear our driveway. Once its done I'll go out and get pictures. We got A LOT of snow... how much I don't know I haven't heard the official word yet but according to Christin who I've been chatting with on MSN our total from Friday afternoon until now is 51cm! That's half of a meter/yard stick folks! Don't forget we got about 20 earlier in the week!

Being stuck in the house I stitched most of the day yesterday.... except for my ahem, nap. I'm making a good start on model #5. As for Model #4 I've asked the magazine to get in contact with the designer for a substitute for the missing thread. The shop that sent me the supplies has it on order, but will it arrive in time? Who knows? The shop suggested that the ombre was a gold to a coppery gold and suggested blending 918 and a gold blending filament. I pulled them out and e-mailed my contact at the magazine and said ummmm no this is a rusty red, it won't work with the description she had given me and it just doesn't look right.

Stay tuned for snow pictures....

Free As a Bird! Well Almost...

Yay! March Break is here. I'm not going anywhere spectacular this year. At the moment I'm glad I'm not! It started snowing this afternoon around 2pm or so... well it hasn't stopped. Over the next 36 hours we could get upto 50cm!!!!

So I'm free, but I don't think I'll be able to get out of the house for a few days! Originally I was going to visit with Chrisanne until Monday. I've told her not likely now! Christin and I did our running around after work and as time has gone by the roads have been getting worse. They were starting to get pretty greasy by 7pm. So I'll be settling in with model #6 (and I've been given an alternative for #5 so I'll check my stash later to see if I have what's needed), Law & Order Season One (I'm almost done watching it) and moving onto Season Two of House.

Model #4 Almost Done

Well, I'm *almost* finished model #4 for A Needle Pulling Thread. Its all done except for one missing thread I'm waiting on, and a little backstitching I don't want to put in because its on, near or next to the unstitched area. Tomorrow I'll be starting #5 and hopefully have it finished in short order! This weekend I'm supposed to be going to visit Chrisanne, but I have a feeling the weather is going to stop that from happening! Courtesy of Texas, they've predicted about 50cm for us over Friday evening/Saturday.

March is giving me so much to look forward to (or perhaps I have a better outlook on things and I'm over the winter blahs?). Tomorrow is my last day of work for a week, March Break! I'm not going anywhere exotic this year but I've packed my week with friends and stitching! Like I said over the weekend I hope to get out to Chrsianne's. On Tuesday my Mum and I are going to get our hair done (her early b-day gift to me... its the 27th of this month). Either on Wednesday or Thursday I'm going to be heading down to Brighton to visit with Ann and see the Thursday stitchers. Can't wait to see you ladies! On Saturdayish I'll be stopping in at Christn's parents for an early Easter dinner!

Moving on in March, on the 19th Christin and I are going to go see the Foo Fighters! I've always wanted to see the Foos! Hopefully I'll get some awesome pictures to share!

On March 24th Chrisanne is taking me to see Lenny Kravitz for my b-day!

Finally on March 27th its my birthday. I always expect that somehow its going to be an extra special day. Very rarely does that happen (last year Todd didn't get home from work until 11pm I sat at home by myself, no card, no flowers, nothing), so I'm hoping to approach it with a more cynical outlook. If I don't hope the day is gong to be special then anything different will be a lovely surprise right?

In between all of this... four day work weeks, thanks to Good Friday and Easter! What a fun month!

SBQ : February 26th

Yay! Snow Day! I tried to go to work this morning, but as soon as my car got out of the garage I started spinning my tires, going sideways and almost got stuck in the snow. So back into the garage my car went, made my phone calls to work , and got back into my jammies! I'm getting caught up on the world that is Blogging, then I'm going to model stitch my heart out to season 1 of House. I should finish Model #3 minus the missing thread today.

To entertain you with something stitchy, here's last week's SBQ :

Q: What is your cross stitch weakness? (i.e., What do you have to havewhen you see it, even if you are supposed to be on the Wagon?)

A : I have no definate to die for weakness when it comes to stash. Sometimes I just want something so badly I have to have it and I break down to get it! I have to say this probably applies mostly to charts. Charts can go out of print right??? At least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Stitch model #6

I'm keeping things very simple this month! I've got a whole bunch of deadline stitching! Models 4&5 are due April 1st and so is the RR. Tonight I finally got in a descent stretch of stitching, something I haven't done in about a week. I'm nearing the end of Model #4, just the border, the backstitch, and I wasn't sent one fibre needed and I don't have it in my stash. I'm hoping it'll be sent soon so I can count this one as completed. Until it arrives I'll just move onto Model #5.

This last week I took a HUGE step, well at least one for me! Last Tuesday I joined Weight Watchers... I've always been "fluffy" even when I was quite active at Taekwon-Do. Now I don't even have that to maintain my weight. Slowly over the last 9 months the weight has been creeping on. For me this was a huge step to admit that yes I'm overweight and I can't do it on my own. Tonight I weighed in for the second time... I've dropped 3.5 lbs in my first week! Yay! In my first week on WW my biggest challenge has been social situations when there are goodies sitting out to help yourself to. I'm just relieved I lost weight in my first week, imagine how disappointing it would of been if I hadn't? My next step will be to start a little activity and see how my foot holds up, until the snow is gone cycling isn't an option so I'm going to attempt to start praying to the treadmill gods again and see if my foot behaves!

Oh and the 3 days... that's how many working days there are until March Break starts! Tomorrow at work there was a lot of talk about another snow day (we had one on Monday, freezing rain), a big system is coming in courtesy of Tennessee (its all your fault Claire!), with snow and ice pellets. I do have to try to get into work on Snow Days, we don't close the schools here in Ontario (otherwise the school would loose a day of funding from the provincial government... we can't let that happen!). Its not very often that I don't make it in on bad weather days, we're supposed to try to go to our location, if not, the nearest school (which in my case its my school). However if we feel it is too dangerous to be on the roads we're not to risk our lives. In the last six years that's only happened once and that was this last December when I couldn't even get my car out of the garage without spinning my tires.

Its Been Days and Days!

Good evening blogger friends! Its been a few days hasn't it? I've been busy, and not so busy. I spend my Thursday evening stretching and putting together frames which I'll be happy to give back to my client tomorrow! Yay, and I'm sure she'll be thrilled to get the pieces back. I do have pictures, but they're on my camera and I can't be bothered to download them just yet.

Friday I was struck down by a pretty bad migraine, I woke up with it and when that happens you won't be seeing me at work! So I stayed home and was in bed a fair part of the day. I was finally feeling human today. Needless to say not much stitching has happened at all this week. I have made some progress on model # 3 (if you count the two I did back in January) and in all honesty I'm not enjoying it. If you ever hear anyone complaining about stitching white on white... believe me its not as nasty as black on black!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I'm heading out in the morning to visit some stitching friends! There's nothing like a day of stitching and visiting! Hopefully I'll be able to tell you that I've made great leaps and bounds on my model!
