Work on Celestial Dragon
This week I lost my battle with the scale and I'm right back to where I've been trying to get away from since mid March. I'm back up 2lbs (after successfully loosing 3 in the last 2 weeks), not something I can explain easily as I feel slimmer, Todd says I'm looking slimmer and I don't feel a 2 lbs gain in my clothes. I know the scale is not a science and not the best measure of one's body. But boy it puts a bummer on my day, to the point that at the end of the day when I got home... I polished off those delish chocolates I was showing you yesterday, then took a nap, followed by 32 minutes on the treadmill, and some weights in the basement.
What could of thrown the scale off? Well I did eat out Thursday-Saturday, trying to make the best choices but there are so many hidden calories in restaurant food! Thursday was a pizza lunch with my DR kids to celebrate the end, Friday was battered haddock with salad, Saturday was fajitas for lunch, and a late night grilled chicken sandwich with only 1/2 the bun... and cake at the stag. So there are these foods that I can only guesstimate the point value of, also high sodium. I've been having a lot of headaches and migraines lately (more than usual), also the last two nights I have not slept well. Also though I'm not trying to get too stressed out/worked up over this weight thing I'm sure it is getting to me. All of these things are factors that can affect weight.
I knew I'd be eating out quite a bit, and had hoped to compensate with exercise... at least stay the same. However I guess 7 days in a row of physical activity didn't make a difference! Last week I did a combination of running, walking, Taekwon-Do, and spinning.
So I've put my big girl panties back on after my pity party today and I'm back at it again.

hmmmm...did you take anything with ibuprophen in it for your headaches? If so..it retains water. They could explain it.
It could totally be the salt in some of the food you ate.
I gained three pounds in one day. Two days later (after eating clean), I was back down to my normal weight.
As long as your clothes feel good, I wouldn't worry too much. And that man of yours --- so sweet ... he's a KEEPER!
Good luck with you goals for June
{{big hug}} if your clothes feel good then you're doing ok
Try not to bash yourself over the head to much Dani, you have made such an achievement in the weight you have lost. Hugs.
On a more positive note: muscle weighs more than fat. You say you feel and look slimmer, that your clothes are comfortable, that you have been exercising more faithfully and strenuously since March ... have you taken your measurements? At my gym, basic body measurements are part of every weigh-in ... mainly to eliminate the angst you are experiencing ... sometimes small gains are a good thing because they indicate a healthier BMI.
I have to say I agree with Riona. Muscle weighs more than fat. I had an exercise leader who told us not to go srictly by the scale but also by how well your clothes fit. It seems to me you're on the right track. Also salt will cause you to retain water. So I say whatever your doing seems to the right way to go.
Just hang in there! As long as your clothes don't feel tighter it can be muscle that you have gained after all that exercise.
I vote for the salt content of eating out. They put a lot of salt in stuff. Keep on doing what you do.
Maybe you just have more muscles after your 7-day work out? Muscles weigh more. If you look and feel slimmer, that can definitely be the reason. Ann
Good luck with your goals for June. Keep in mind how much you have lost - a great achievement. You will lose the rest it may take a bit of time.
Well done on your stitchy goals for May!
Don't get too stressed about your weight - that won't help with anything. Weight is definitely not the only (or most important) measurement - if your clothes fit well its probably the best indication. Maybe you are building a lot of muscle - that's always a good thing!
Hope you feel better soon :)
{{{hugs}}} Sorry you are having a tough week - both with the deer and working around all that eating out - it's never easy to stick tp points when there's a restaurant in the equation. I am sure the gain will be a minor set back - if the clothes still fit, focus on that. Love that Todd is so brilliant and supportive - you've achieved a huge amount, and you know that you'll be able to lose these last few lbs again.
If you feel good and look good, then don't be too hard on yourself. Besides, with lots of exercise, you could always be gaining muscle, right?
I agree with Barbi. My doctor just told me recently that any anti-inflammatory pain meds will cause you to retain water which will in turn increase blood pressure. I know that's what was happening with me.
I am glad that there is no major damage done to your car. It can give you a terrible fright when you hit something. One night I hit a fox, and with a car in front and one behind on a narrow country road there was absolutely nothing that I could do.
Oh! what a treat..looks so yummmy! LOL.Good luck with your June's goal and hope you are feeling much better.
I agreed with Jenna. As long as you feel good, don't worry too much.
if you look slimmer, and make a lot of exercise,,mayybe the weigh is form the muscless...
so many projects! I must congratulate you for all your embroidery works, they look really lovely. And don't worry too much about weight, what matters is that you feel fine.
Have a nice day
best wishes
I'm glad that both you and your car are ok, that must have been so scary! I hear you with the battle with the scales, it's so easy to put a few pounds on and so difficult to take it off.
Hang in there!! I know it is disheartening. I remember doing Take Thirty twice a day for three months, sure I'd see a huge difference on the scale, and NOTHING. Nada, zip, zilch. I was so discouraged. I did feel better, and sometimes I think that's almost more important, because you need to mentally feel good about yourself, too. Anyway, good luck and keep on keeping on!
Well done on your stitchy goals.
Sounds like the extra weight might just be retained water?
Your figure looks perfect to me. Is that your new profile picture? You look really gorgeous with glasses!! What are those colourful lollipops? It is such a sin to put them on your blog and not sharing! LOL!
Hugxxx
You've done so well with your weightloss programme. Don't let a measly 2lb get you down!
Hope you're feeling better - those little ails can pull you down big time. A couple of pounds up or down are ok, as long as you're keeping your eye on them - which you are! Especially since you're not 'feeling' them in your clothes or body. You're doing a great job!
Don't give up! I hope next month brings more satisfaction to you.
