TUSAL and Some Finishing

Or is that some finishing and a TUSAL?

Here is this month's artistic arranagement to compliment my big vase full of orts.  Some adorable black cat/pumpkin fabric I picked up during a cross-border jaunt to Ogdensburg, N.Y. with Tracey.  A cute fuzzy Halloween bear from Kathy, and my latest finishing finish!

In the last two weeks I've done quite a bit of finishing ... for me that is.  I know some of you are super amazing finishers, who stitch something AND finish it!  Me, I stitch something and immediately put it into my bin of finished, unfinished projects that I keep under my guest bed.  Recently I've had the finishing bug, so I've pulled a few things out and put them on the table in my craft room.  Meaning I might actually finish them! Three of the items I've finished I can't share with you just yet.  One item is my ornament for my November Knowledge and Needles Retreat.  It is super adorable and everyone is going to wish they got it!  The second is my ornament for the exchange on one of my Facebook groups.  The third is a RAK for a stitching blogger out there!  This fourth item is mine!  All mine!  And I can share!

French Country Scardey Cats from JBW designs
this cute black cat pumpkin fabric backs this crushed walnut shell little pillow (is it a pillow when its filled with crushed walnut shells?)

Its strange, I'm not a Halloween person but for some reason I've got quite a few finished Halloween decorations!

Wow, your jar of orts is really getting filled up!
I love your Halloween pillow. The little cats on it are just too cute.

I second the motion on how cute those cats are! It's a casing stuffed with a ground up food, which I think makes it a sausage, but I wouldn't want to sleep on it or eat it, so I'm no help. It's a nice finish, whether it's a pillow or not.

Love it. Very cute.
I'm not a big halloween girl either, as in I don't do the dress up and celebrate thing and don't see why I should share my chocolate with strangers. But I love a lot of the halloween designs. I'd make them all if I could. Currently thinking a trio of haunted house cross stitch designs would look great in my stairwell. Year round of course :)

Hi Dani,
I was in love with this design the first time you've shown it on your blog. Great that you did finish it in a pillow (love the cat fabric :-).
Have a nice weekend!

Really love the finish, I'm not a huge Halloween fan but I just love the simple black and orange of this one, I think I'd call it a pillow lol.

That's a great pillow and I love your backing fabric. I have the same problem with finishing - I have a lot of pieces that are stitched, and there they sit.

I, too, have a drawer full of unfinished finishes, Dani, but for the past couple of years, I've tried to finish as I go. It is so nice to have your hard work on display :)

Your little pillow is adorable--looks so cute displayed with Kathy's gift :)

Adorable finish! I have never been much of a Halloween stitcher either, but there have been some designs these past couple of years that I just love.

Great work on the finishing, love the design and the sausage!

Maybe Hallowe'en appeals because it's more quirky and less twee than Christmas? For me, it's the cats and boots I love! Have you noticed what cool boots witches wear?

Ooohhhh love your Halloween finish, it's adorable. I love Halloween (my favorite holiday to decorate for) and love cats, and have had several black ones. This design is perfect for me, think I even have some green fabbie I can use. I see some stashing in my future :)
