All Booked!

Yay! I booked my flight for my March Break trip tonight! So I'll be in Jacksonville, FLA (many of you have asked ... thanks and I hope I do get the opportunity to meet some of the FLA stitching bloggers) March 14-20. So now its a matter of surfing the net (which I've spent all night doing) and deciding where I want to go and what I want to do on my first trip to Florida. If anyone has ideas of cool places I can take pictures in/near Jacksonville I'm happy to hear your suggestions!

Since I've spent so much time online, I've barely stitched yet again! Which means that exchange is still not close to being finished! Thank goodness I'm heading down to Brighton and Ann's this weekend. I'll get lots of stitching in for sure! I should be able to finish my exchange and hopefully move back to Paradigm Lost.

I'm in a better mental space today. I didn't blow my food, like I did yesterday and I went and spent an hour and a half at the gym. Hopefully I'll shake this no change at the scale. That or I might shiver off this weight, its been so FREAKIN' cold! Tonight its -31c before the wind chill! Its been sub-Arctic since Tuesday night, and sounds like it'll be this way until next week. I hope my car makes it through this cold snap!

Here's Photo Hunt #139 - Breakfast

This is my good friend Beatrice, at breakfast during the Knowledge and Needles Timberhouse Retreat (Ann's hosting another one in March!). A good time was had by all!

Cold weather sucks ... I don't know how you make it in Canada ...

Great for the gym !!!!!!!! Hope it helps the scale go down ;-) You have already lost so much weight: it's a great inspiration for people like me !!!

Hi Dana, you'll have fun in Jacksonville, FL. I grew up there; you must go to St. Augustine which is about a 30-45 minute drive from Jacksonville. It's the oldest City in the US - a lot of historical stuff to see, the beach and shopping :) I hope you have a good time. BTW, congratulations on the weight loss - you look wonderful! I'm trying to make 2009 the year to get back in shape and eat healthy!

My family went to St. Augustine each spring break when I was growing up! It's a wonderful city - the oldest in the U.S. You HAVE to go there!!!! Go to the Olde Town and make sure you stop at the Spanish Bakery! And eat a bit of bread and some of their lemon cookies :) There is the fountain of youth there, the St. Augustine Light House, the oldest Catholic Church and lots of haunted mansion tours...GO!

Love seeing the picture of Beatrice! Florida should be a lot warmer for you. The only place I have been to in Florida is Disneyworld.

You know, our bodies respond to things like the weather (kinda like how animals grow thicker coats in colder winters). If you're going through a cold snap, maybe your body is trying to hold on to its insulation? That is one of the biological reasons for our extra fat. If you continue to have trouble (plateaus suck), I bet you'll have a big dip when the weather breaks.

Have a great trip!

Stay warm and snuggly in the cold.

You should have a great time in Fl, and someplace warm will be such a treat. It has been horribly cold here also. I couldn't believe it when they said we were colder than it was in Alaska. There is something wrong when they say it is only 0 and you're greatful. Hope the next time you go in you'll see some more progress on the scale. I think these winter months are such a hard time to lose weight in. You're doing so awesome though, hang in there.

Oh my, I can't imagine -30°C and more. We have also had temps of -20°C here in the mountains but that seems to be warm compared to your -30. Stay warm!

Hi Dani! Hopping over here from N&T to say hello! Wave to me when you fly over North Carolina! I just this month joined the blogging world and have been introduced to the Fabby Award (I thought it had something to do with linen) You are the victim of my first handing out of awards, so come visit me on my blog!

St Augustine - Castillo de San Marcos - old, old Spanish Fort that's pretty interesting. There is a lighthouse in St Augustine too. The old Flagler Hotel is now Flagler College and the place is interesting. I don't know if they do tours yet or not.

Daytona Beach - just to say you've been there.

Definitely St Augustine - we spent a few days there a couple of trips back and enjoyed every minute. You can book a little train ride that takes you to places of interest with plenty of photo opportunities and you can get on and off at your leisure. Have a great time.

Don't worry about the weight loss, bodies are funny things. I'm sure it will catch up with itself at some point.

Amazingly I've actually been to Jacksonville! I stayed with a good friend Donna for a few days while I was in Georgia for a wedding. St Augustine is great (although being a Brit and an archaeologist I found the 'oldest town' thing a bit odd). We went to Jacksonville Beach, and saw lots of seabirds, and the Fountain of Youth was a good laugh - quite tacky in some ways, but very entertaining - I also got my favourtite fridge magnet there (old wizened woman transforming to young Marilyn Monroe type - very 50's in style). If you have time for a slightly longer day out, the Ofenokee (?sp) swamp in the southernmost tip of Georgia was supposed to be brilliant - I was a little miffed that I missed it, as most of the other wedding guests have great photos. Photowise I took millions of photos of Spanish Moss hanging fron the trees - it was so unlike British plants it just fascinated me!

Have a great trip.
