Noah's Sub, Ornament Finishing, & Tutorials

Hmmm so much to Blog about this evening, I hope I remember it all!

Friday night I started working on one of two models for Great Bear Canada. I think they'll stitch up quickly its just filling in "background" that will be a bit of a bore. So until these models are done Noah's Sub will be tucked away but I did take a progress picture for you. If you'd like to see my last progress picture from September 30, 2005
Clickie to see. Here's my current progress picture :

In my last Blog I shared with you a picture of the RAK I received from Karin. Well I tried the lampwork beads on my scanner and got a much better picture of them for you. Aren't they stunning?

Finally I finished some ornaments tonight! I'm trying to do them in smaller batches in 2006 instead of trying to finish all of them in November like I usually do!

Merry Tree For Thee

Pointsettia

As promised I have done an ornament finishing tutorial. Instead of putting this tutorial in my Blog where it will easily get lost in time I've put it on my webpage, along with my pillow tutorial. I hope to add to my tutorials as I do some more finishing in the future.

Your latest ornie finishes look great! It's a good idea to get them finished as you go rather than a huge ornie-fest at the end of the year ... I'll have to pop over and look at your latest tutorial when I get home from work (about to head off for my last overnight shift yay) :)

Congrats on finishing some ornaments during the year! I might have to try that approach this year, as well. Reduces the stress, I would imagine. :)

Hi Dani!
Your progress on Noah's Sub looks great!

Congrats on all your ornie finishes-they look wonderful!!

As for my finishing techniques, I just do it...I have always been a very crafty person-I guess that helps. I am good at showing someone something hands on-but when it comes to trying to explain myinstructions in writing, I am not very good at that. Thanks for your comments on my blog :)

Thank you for the tutorial! They are all so clear. It's a great idea to put it on the webpage as it is easier for access if once wants to use it ;-). Happy Stitching. Ann.

Ooooh Dani, I LOVE the Pointsettia! That stained glass window effect is gorgeous, especially with the gold thread outline. I have some Christmas card/ornament designs using that technique and every year I plan to do one, but never get around to it. Must try harder next Christmas!

Hi Dani, great ornie finishes there. I'm going to do the same and try to finish each month's in that month, or the following. I've got 3 to do already for January, lol. Your Sub is looking awesome too, just wish I could slot my one in somewhere.

I noticed you've been having bandwidth problems since you put the tutorials up :(

On the bright side, it's because they are very good tutorials and everyone was talking about them in such high regard :)
